megaman would be awesome, even being able to play with GG one on a console would be cool. Duck hunt Solar Jetman also i reckon the SMS was crying out for a fast paced Contra/Probotector style shooter

I always thought Rygar would have made a great sms game, with the collecting aspect and game play type.

Metroid, Metal Storm, Image Fight, erm...
...and Recca. That would have been badass, but I'm not sure the SMS could handle it.

Some Nes games had extra hardware in their carts to help give the system more power. Something the SMS didn't ever get, the games are still uglier though Oh and since it seems like I've never actually answered this thread, I'll go with Battle Kid, and the basic but fun Wild Gunmen

I assume there wasn't anything stopping developers using add-on hardware in SMS carts (other than cost).

Duck Tales would have been brilliant. It would have really benefitted from the Master System's larger palette.

I've been playing all my Nes games lately, many of which I'd never tried (mostly due to the Nes being so damn fussy about playing carts at all). Many of the apparent classic titles left me fairly unimpressed, although the terrible graphics don't help, confounded by the consoles awful fuzzy video output too. Its no wonder that Nes fans harp on about the cinema scenes in Ninja Gaiden for instance, as the graphics in the actual game are so hideous I initially thought the cart wasn't being recognized properly so the graphics had corrupted, but no its just Medusa ugly. Adding to Wild Gunmen and Battle Kid I mentioned previously, I really like the idea behind Gumshoe which could be great on the SMS with a nice graphics overhaul and more accurate hit detection. I'm currently quite obsessed with Punchout, they really nailed the boxing game with that one, it may well be my favorite nes game. It just plays brilliantly, unlike the three clones of each other boxing games on the SMS which are just sloppy button mashers. It uses a cheating extra chip to achieve the massive sprites though, so a SMS version wouldn't be straight out possible. But still it would be cool to see a boxing game with controls that actually make it fun and let you play as you want to. Gremlins 2 quite impressed me too, its a nice overhead platformer that's way better than you'd expect for a movie license, and also happens to be crying out for a system with decent colour abilities. Captain Skyhawk and Cobra Triangle would also be nice to see, again having no real equivalent on our beloved Sega machine.

Punch-out is easily one of the best NES games in my opinion. Certainly far better than any of the boxing games available on the SMS.
