Megaman games-especially 2, Contra and a good version of Ikari Warriors.

Battletoads (not Battlemaniacs, the original NES one which also had MD and GG versions) Bionic Commando Castlevania (anyone) Contra Double Dragon II The Revenge (a port of the NES version would have been the blast, rather than what was done with the first game) Gargoyle's Quest II Megaman (any NES game) (or at least, a port of the GG game) Mighty Final Fight Street Gangs/River City Ransom Strider (NES version) TMNT II The Arcade Game

All of the NES games would have been better on SMS in my opinion. Probably because I owned a SMS back then lol.
Tecmo Bowl could have been awesome with the sports pad.

those Konami games would have been great on the SMS Castlevania, Contra would have been icing on the cake Capcom's Duck tales would have suited the sms perfectly too to compliment Castle of Illusion and the other Disney games. I wouldn't ave minded a mario game either lol but the sms stood up very well when it came to platform adventure games

Batman: Return of the Joker
That game ROCKED on the NES, and even now I consider it to have incredible graphics.
I would have loved how Sunsoft could have done. Imagine a version of the MMC5 chip on the SMS.
*drools*

Obtaining energy was really random in the game. There should be more powerups, even if hidden.

Hi All
For me, I'd love to have seen Bionic Commando on SMS (unless being new to SMS there is a version and I'm making myself look foolish!).
Basically, I'm into 2d platforming to an unhealthy extent - and the grapple arm instead of jumping was a lovely simple trick to make this platform game stand out.

Definately the contra series but other than that i'd have to say: Rad Gravity Monsters in My Pocket Splatterhouse Wanpaku Graffiti Castlevania series (especially 3) Friday The 13th Megaman Series The Goonies 2 Ninja Turtles (arcade and the rest) Kid Icarus Maniac Mansion Werewolf: The Last Warrior Wrath of the Black Manta The Other Ninja Gaidens (SMS Ninja Gaiden Rocks) Blades of Steel Robocop The Original Metal Gears Snake Rattle and Roll Ice Climber Ghosts n' Goblins (although Ghouls N Ghosts more than makes up for this one) Double Dragon 2 Shadowgate ...ahem, to name but a few. although having said that there are some infinately better games on the master system that i wouldn't give up for jack faeces - glad i'm an adult and can just own 'em all!

althoug this thread is a bit older... i would have liked to see darkwing duck and bucky o´hare on the sms, cause there were only few good jump and shoots on the master system.

All 3 TMNT's Blades of Steel All the Mega Man's
IMO, the ones that stick out the most for the possible 3rd Party games that would be successful. Too bad Nintendo was a Nazi with it's third party policy's.

Could it be cool saw the japanese version of bayou billy (mad city) in the sms (but enhanced I suppose that many people will agree with me ( and its a real fact) that all game in the sega master system could it be better (at least in theory) in graphics and playability than the respective version in the nes. The sms is a very superior machine. Pitifully in my region (Mexico) the sms wasnt popular and we "got forced" to play the nes...Even when I had enjoyment with many games in the nes (And there are great games) the eyes hurts for the ugly colors after some time of play it. Also personally I find the music in the nes irritant. I envy people from other regions where the sms was popular. In the sms the things could it be to much better... As generic said, too bad about the third party policy of nintendo...
