I actually found 13th to be a decent game, you just need to know how to play it, which he doesn't. I hate that guy. The Turtles would have been awesome on the SMS, too bad nothing was released, but it's obviously due to licensing issues and the fact that Konami/Ultra was under Nintendo's spiderpig thumb. Got to wonder what would have been if that wasn't in place.

I'd have loved to see SMS versions of Metroid, Zelda 1 & 2, Kid Icarus, Excitebike and the Mario games. agreed I'm going to go the other way on the Mario games. I'm glad that they didn't come out for the SMS. Those games were done so well on the NES, and were so 'nintendo' that I don't think they'd have been as well recieved had they eventually made the SMS transition. In the same manner, I'm glad that - for example - AKIMW didn't make it to the NES! I think there are some games that were perfect just as they were on the format they were on.

the one NES game that kept me coming back for more was Ski or Die, very addictive trying to beat your scores, I think I scored all 10's in the high jump thing. so I would have liked to see this on the sms.

I've just noticed this thread . I would have liked to play Maniac Mansion on my SMS, i know its not a NES exclusive but its the only version i've ever played and it would have been more enjoyable on the SMS

Yeah, a point and click type game would have been great, all we really have is sucky King's Quest. Blah.

I dont think the SMS KQ sucks i think its a simple but sweet adventure game, but it was also the first adventure game so don't judge it too harshly. I'm probably just biased though because I loved all of Sierra's "Quest games". A little off topic but 2 sierra adventure games which would be awesome to play on SMS : KQ3 and Goldrush.

I just didn't like it because they straight ported it and in fact the original version looks and plays a lot better. They went really half assed on a lot of it. No music, no sound really, no upgraded graphics. They could have done a lot more with it and the other ones were already out up to, ummm, what is it four I think, so they could have easily done one of those. The first one was too easy.

No music, no sound really, no upgraded graphics. They could have done a lot more with it and the other ones were already out up to, ummm, what is it four I think, so they could have easily done one of those. The first one was too easy. the SMS version is very superior to the original EGA version. you are probably thinking of the VGA version which is remade and looks a lot better. I'm sure you don't mean the EGA version because it is extremely pixelated. There wasn't any music on the original version it used beeps as sound generated by the PCs internal speaker. I agree about it being too easy but it was the first adventure game so I guess they made it simple because it was the first of a new genre and they didn't know if people would like it or not so probably didn't want to spend a lot of money making a long game. It's shortness and easiness does leave you craving for something more complex though. And I also agree that one of the later King's Quests should of been released instead (KQ3, KQ3!!!). But I am very happy that the SMS at least received 1 decent adventure game, of course more would of been better though! I just like the arcade game and I think if an SMS version was made it would of been more similair to the arcade one than the NES. Also I reckon if Mike Tyson's was released on the SMS it might of helped sell a few more consoles which would of extended it's shelf life causing more games to be added to it's library. Were you surpised because you think it's a bad game?

I know this game is a little of topic but Dangerous Dave PC dos version would have been a great little platformer for the sms. You really need to try it and i find it works great on my XP without having to emulate it through dos box.

If we're talking PC games that could haev been translated to the SMS, I'd love to have seen the Commander Keen series translated. They were awesome games, and could easily have been done. Loved the use of the pogo stick in the games! ;D
