Notes are for any variations that you may know offhand (these can be added later, not really priority), but definitely are used for extra things that came with games. Mighty Max, which I added a day or so ago, comes complete with a comic book, so I mentioned that in the notes.

I won't know that stuff off hand since almost none of the games I have are brand new, and the ones that are are sealed . The only variations that I know of are earlier Canadian released Genesis games that had the Euro cover design and manual but with the North American Genesis logo instead of the Mega Drive logo. I'll start taking screens of the games that I have since I have the release year for those, and I'll look for the UPC for them at the same time without having to dig through my stuff hopefully.

Just add what you know for now, these things can be detailed later, one game at a time.

Ok,
Anyone here good at writing?
I wants some help with writing the pages: * What is the Mega Drive? * Official Accessories
I am really crap at writing articles etc without making them sound really stupid etc.
So, anyone up for it?
Also I was thinking, does anyone have any ideas of what other things we can add to the website? Ive removed most of the sections sega8bit.com has like members bios and the things like that.
Also if someone notices any pages with "wrong design" (that is different to all the other pages) please let me know.
Thanks, Peder.

I can definitely write some stuff, but I think we need a joint effort to get that database up and ready, that's the core I think.

So we should focus on the games database the most first? .

Definitely, need to get that up, it's core to the entire site. That will get people looking and then things can be added.

You might want to close the site until it is finished that way when your done with everything itwill be ready for a full launch.

No, it's best if left open - then people can constantly give feedback on changes as they happen. It works much better that way, trust me. Having said that, it's best not to launch the site (or spread the word of it far beyond this forum) until it's done - except to get additional help.

Okay, I have the UPC's for about 147 Genesis games, 12 32X games, and 37 Sega CD games. My next step is to get screens of those games and then dump then in the database, at which point I will start on the games that I don't have. Not sure how I will get screencaps from the Sega CD games, unless anyone knows of a good emulator that will run them.

Sounds sweet man, do what you can! Also, Peder, I assume we'll just be making a note of what unit the game was for under format correct? Eventually I suggest once it's up we get a forum for it that's essentially just like this one, but all 16-Bit related, giving users here easy access to a clone to site to talk about Megadrive issues. That will come later though.

About the format thingy I just never removed it, but I guess we could use it for that! Good idea.
Maybe I should change the text?
About the forum, why not just make a "subboard" or just a 16bit section on this forum? would make it easier for everyone, nobody would have to registrer on another forum etc.
Anyway, if not I would rather use "Simple Machine Forums" because I find them easier to use and edit than these proboards. And I could host it.

What's "Model Numbers:" when entering new games into the database? Once I move I'll be able to add the blurbs on the back of the boxes as my games will be out and accessible

Also, "Arcade" and "Action" should be added to the game genres. I don't know what to put Altered Beast under without those two.
Also add "Simulation", "Adventure" and "Strategy"
