Great to have someone else from the states here! Question, why did you name yourself after an anti-depressant?

Hey Jena, welcome to the forum! Always great to get people who are so enthusiastic about the SMS! So what's your collection currently like? What are your collecting aims? (full US collection / varients / hardware / Euro games etc.) Are you more of a player or a collector? (Cause we have a good mix of both here!)

(full US collection / varients / hardware / Euro games etc.) Are you more of a player or a collector? (Cause we have a good mix of both here!) I'm a bit of both! I am working on getting together a list of my games but its going to be hard. Ideally I would like a full US collection (minus sports games) and games of interest from Euro. I recently bought some shelves from Tower records that they used for movie rentals and game shelves and will get some of my stuff out of boxes. I have a feeling my PS2 games, and newer stuff is going to far out number my masters stuff ;; I keep hitting road blocks, I lent a pile of my rare games to a (ex) friend of mine, who refuses to give them back. Its discouraging but I am not going to give up *envisions a Full US collection!!!* Its all about just tracking down the games! I guess its half of the fun because I feel like I am running around finding pieces of my childhood and stuff that I don’t recognize is fun to because its something old, mixed with something new! I frequented flea markets all summer with not much luck. I only found Games for Genesis and newer systems. I don't have as much $$$ to collect as I would like (via ebay) because of keeping up with newer games.... I finally got a boxed SMS near mint, I'm proud of that! How about you guys?

Quite a few of us have massive collections. Ive got 300 games or so, i gave up counting them. I originally only bought the games i wanted to play, but since i had so many decided to collect the whole lot!
One thing to bear in mind, some US games are a lot harder to find than their European versions. US Sonic for example fetches really high prices, even though its identical to the common Euro version apart from a small barcode sticker on the back!

I love to play and collect although I think most people here regard me more as a collector. The only new stuff i get is for the DS. My aims with my SMS collection are just to keep going for ever, diffrent country variations of the same game interest me, all the diffrent variations of packaging.

Hhahaha, good one, makes sense then. Glad to have you aboard! Rarely do we get NTSC fans here. Prepare for sickness. I suggest you read the new article I put up since it pertains to some of the rarest variations in the SMS library, and they're all from the states.

It hasnt been released here yet so ive yet to try one. It is worth the price After playing the 360 on my HDTV it was a little weird playing non HD current generation games. So far I played and beat Ultimate Alliance. I ended up not using the motion sensor functions too much. Unless I move my couch closer to my tv (its about 5 metres right now) I find it has trouble picking up the motion. I also like laying down on the couch while I play game and I noticed when playing trauma center I have to sit pretty much in the middle of the couch holding the controller straight up and down to work the way I want it to. I think it has the possibility to be great but it needs some tweaking. I haven't touched zelda yet, and I'm not going to until I get the HD cables, I know its not *real* HD... but still.. haha. I haven't played wii sports either I'm not into sports at all But I will check it out and let you guys know how it works with the motion sensor. I think the last sports game I played was link in like Dos. I want to pick up rayman, it looks adorable. Over all I would say it is worth the 12 hours I sat in the cold for it ;D

The only sports game ive really played much on the sms is putt and putter which is really more of a puzzle game, I fully recomend it to you, its quite cheap aswell.

Sounds like the Wii could be fun, even if the controller requires more effort than a normal controller Im going to hold off getting one for a while, wait for some more games to come out, and a price drop wouldnt hurt. Its coming out at £180 here - which is like $350, i was hoping it was going to be cheaper since its hardly state of the art technology. "Hmm, I def have over 300 games, but that is counting, sms, atari, sg, dreamcast, gamegear, game boy, gba, n64, psx, ps2, wii, 360" sg - is that the sega sg1000 ?
