He had several other offers for it, but I was lucky and he went for mine. To be fair, I've only heard of 1 other copy selling for more (Kiff's for £135), though there hasn't been one on eBay in aaages, and the next will probably go sky-high. I would probably have gone a little higher if need be. The seller knew it's rarity, and had previously sold one on eBay in Nov '02.

A pony is traditionally £25 - don't ask me why, though. I know that 'a monkey'[/i] (£500) was apparently brought over from the colonies in India, by co ckney soldiers serving the British Empire. The 500 ruppee note had a picture of a monkey printed on it, so the Tommies used 'monkey' as the slang term while over there. When they returned to Blighty, they kept it alive by applying the term to 500 pounds sterling. A nice bit of pub-bore trivia for you, there. Ayrtons and MacGyvers are two of my personal favourite money terms, quite easy to work out. ;D
