Looks like Alex Kidd in Miracle World is getting a modern DX treatment. Promises new graphics, modes and levels and seems interesting so far. I thought Sega would never go back to the Alex Kidd franchise, but perhaps the success of things like Sonic Mania and Streets of Rage 4 have made them realise there is value in their older ip.
Does anyone know who Jankenteam are?

Should be interesting to see how this turns out. I always found the character handling and collision detection to be a bit off, so hopefully they tighten that up a bit. It'd be nice as well to see losing paper/scissors/stone not be fatal and instead just trigger a regular boss fight.
Hopefully raises the profile of the SMS a bit as well, given how US-centric the gaming community is - pains me to see UK Youtube channels talking about the Sega Genesis, for example. It'd be nice to see more SMS re-releases and maybe this will help if it turns out to be any good.

Looking forward to this. The trailer looks great. Just hope they go back and remake wonderboy in monsterland 😄

I'm looking forward to it. If it gets a physical I'll purchase. Would love to see Shinobi World get a physical release

Oh Alex! I knew you'd be back, I'm just glad it's not in pog form. It's a miracle but then we're starting to see lots of revivals. Hopefully we get an AK in Shinobi World.
Apparently it's being published by PQube, which is good news as far as physical collectors are concerned. I predict both a standard and big box collectors edition will be available from signatureeditiongames when the time is right.

Any updates on this? I always miss these releases and end up paying over the odds on ebay from someone who bought 10 to sell :/

Any updates on this? I always miss these releases and end up paying over the odds on ebay from someone who bought 10 to sell :/ I recently searched around for an update actually and could not find any recent news at all. Every previous mention said 2021 release date and I saw one mention of Q1 2021 but that’s looking unlikely as it’s been silence. I really hope it does actually get released! Kinda hoping for a collectors version with a Master System style box and artwork

Yeah I don't think there's been any updates since the announcement video. Somewhat concerning given the suggested release was Q1 2021, but then Covid and Sega's restructuring might have delayed things. Fingers crossed we hear something soon.

Hi everyone, Not sure if you are aware/interested but I'm fairly confident if we get a physical release (it is likely for 2021) it'll be done by Signature Edition Games, an off-shoot from Merge Games. I've bought a few of their Signature Edition games in the past including Morbid recently (which is very good btw) and I really like the presentation and extra goodies you usually get along with the game. Prices vary but usually its around £39.99 or less if you literally just want the game and you can see more here: signatureeditiongames.com/I'm really looking forward to this one and reckon it'll be a great trip down memory lane. Apparently you'll be able to play in 2 modes too. In the remake version with updated graphics but also classic mode which will be the original game itself. Long Live Alex Kidd!!

I saw something they shared a while ago on a tweet for the steam version as they had some involvement so I thought it made sense that they will be doing the physical. They haven't confirmed yet but every time they do a reveal or tease something I'm not the only one who is guessing it'll be Alex Kidd. I could be wrong but I don't think so.

Cool, not sure what else you're into but they publish some cool games. I really enjoyed Dead Cells and Morbid. Great pixel art. Take it easy mate.
