The whole thing makes me glad I have indoor hobbies, like you said RetrobobThankfully gaming, writing novels and reading are all best done indoors As Kryten said: - 'Mmm. The most popular pastimes have always been ones that males can enjoy alone. Angling, golf and, of course, the all-time number one.' (I think the all time number one is playing the sega master system obviously:D )

How is everyone?
Crazy that 7 months has passed since I replied to this thread and we are still in the middle of this mess.
I’m not going to lie.. life is pretty difficult just now trying to balance working from home, home schooling a 4 year old and looking after an 18 month old. Having said that I also feel incredibly lucky too to have a job and family around me as I have close friends that have neither. So I’m not complaining just venting a bit. Master System collecting has really been a solid rock to get me through this actually. Most of my online discussions and sharing has been via Instagram but I regularly come here, mostly to check back on old threads for information. It’s actually great reading back through some of the old conversations and drama from 10+ years ago!
I’m going to make a little more effort now to post here as I do miss the forum format and the good discussion we used to have. Instagram is great too but it’s mostly very public or very private - this has that nice middle ground of just being like minded people in a conversation.

Hi mate, good to see you're still around after all these years, hope you and the family are doing good. I have to say I was a bit worried the forum was looking kinda dead, but looks like we could yet resuscitate it 😃. I think the internet forum format has probably been replaced by twitter and Facebook groups these days, so it's great to see people still posting here. I still love that there are so many good discussion threads on here, perfectly preserved. The post a out high prices on eBay is particularly funny to read from the start these days given the madness that is now routine over there. I've found the lockdown and Pandemic to be hard too , being honest. We now have home schooling of my 7 and 9 year old autistic son to do, while both trying to do full-time jobs from home. I don't think I've ever had my patience so tested, but I've made sure to put the family first. Here's hoping all of our mental health keeps up and we all make it through this. The only consolation to this is getting to spend so much time together. I'm used to commuting daily, and it's weird not having to worry about that anymore. I think I filled up my car with diesel about six times in total in the last nine months. There's definitely benefit of free time, as I've found time to join Twitter, and spend more time gaming with the family and I'm also getting back Into the collection aspect of the SMS, there is nothing else to do in lockdown. I've never stopped playing the games and now finally reached the point my son has stated showing some interest in having a shared hobby which is nice. Going to make an effort to be around here more often and take advantage of the slightly slower pace of life at the moment.

Well the last few months have been crazy. Back in February or March I released my debut novel, then a couple of months later we moved to a new house which is a renovation project, at the moment every room is going to get redone, trying to put my design background to use.
A few weeks ago our car was written off, someone drove straight into us, narrowly missing the door on my side.
Everything else we are just trying to plod on as usual, the stress is awful but it’s the hope of better times that are keeping us going

Hey guys, it's been a while! It's nice to drop by and see you and this place still going. Life has been strange for quite some time now, and it's been challenging to look forward when there's no clear end in sight to all of this. I've been fortunate enough to be able to work from home all this time, while the Mrs is studying from home also. We've managed quite well all things considered, but after doing this for so long we both feel rather exhausted. It's gotten harder to distinguish between work and free-time, since everything kind of flows together when you're at home all the time, plus you don't get to see that many people anymore, or do as much outside home as you were able to before, to get a significant break. But all in all we're hanging in there, and have nothing to complain about, given the circumstances.

I didn't want to take part in this discussion because like everyone I'm just so tired of covid and everything that has come (or gone) with it. But seeing korax 's return is one positive from the epidemic lol. I have the poster you made in 2013 hanging on my wall, and just the other I day I thought "will we ever hear from korax again?" Welcome back to you and the other long lost sega souls we've heard from lately.

Awww, thanks man It's funny, I had a similar thought recently when I looked at some SMS games in my drawer and went "Hm, I wonder how people at sega8bit are doing!" I think this is just one of the rare, good places that people tend to circle back to eventually, even after many years.

How are we all coping? Still making the best of a bad situation?
I had my first vaccine a couple of months ago (the same day it was opened up for 39 year olds, got a very last minute appointment and my boss basically told me to get in my car and get jabbed 😂) Vaccine number 2 is a week and a half away.
We booked a holiday 2 years ago for the end of 2020, got it cancelled and moved it to a year later and even that isn’t certain.
Oh well, the new house won’t decorate itself, I have many plans for it (anyone that has ever met me knows I always have lots of creative ideas on the go), plus we managed to replace our written off car.

I remember when this forum was busy back in 2007/2008. I would be on here daily conversing with everyone. Now it looks like the forum barely has any traffic, though I see a few names from back in the old days.
