How is everyone coping in the currently difficult circumstances? Hoping everything is okay whatever part of the world you are from.
Is anyone using time at home to spend more time with their Master System and other retro gaming? I managed to get my 6 year old hooked on Pacmania a couple of days ago. 🙂

I'm quite lucky working for a University that I've been working from home for a few weeks now, and can fit work in around the kids on the whole, thought being stuck in the house with a 6yo and a 2yo is never easy! 🤣

Hya ! Everything all right here, no one in the family is sick. Didn't go out of my appartment for three weeks (well, just two times to throw stuff in the garbage bin ^^) As an independant worker, my revenues dropped to 0 fortunately, I also have a part time job as an instructor I still do from home, and I managed to get two days a week instead of one day a week normally. Just enough to pay for food and bills, which is cool So basically, this situation is just like a looong holiday period for me, I have much more time to play than I would have ever expected Stay safe !

On the subject of retro gaming- my crt and master systems are all in storage (all 4 of them), the storage unit has very limited access hours at the minute so I guess it will take a backseat for now.
Work- busier than ever, those that know what I do will know why. Just done my 3rd week fully from home.
Elsewhere in my life I am preparing to move house so between work and packing I probably won't have time till all this is over

Poor lad is going to have a faeces birthday.

Glad to hear you're all doing okay. And yeah, it would suck to be a kid and have a birthday around now!

Is anyone using time at home to spend more time with their Master System and other retro gaming? I turned my home upside down today to dig out my Master System consoles. It started with a recent purchase of an Everdrive GG for my Game Gear and eventually I got to the point where I thought "I miss the Master System" so I made it happen. Been playing Master of Darkness, Micro Machines, Alien Syndrome, Fantastic Dizzy, Fantasy Zone and a few SG-1000 favourites.

Started new zero hour contract job in Middle of March at Manchester central (Cleaning, better pay) as I really needed to get out of working at the Arcade (Yay dumping a third extra work on me) and I had a 90% cert job at the Museum of Science and industry.
Sadly that other job fell through Towards the end of March incoming work stopped Had a 36 hour week get cut down to 8, turned up for one 12 hour night shift "What you doing in?" "My rota said I was in" "All shifts are canceled" "What about money?" *Shrugs* Had to apply for Universal credit, that didn't come in till end of April, basically had 6 weeks with no money coming in. After working out my outgoings it looks like I have £20 a week to buy food.
Sitting here watching my hard earned savings go away. I cant apply for that job retention thing as zero hours.
The biggest kick in the nuts is Manchester central has been turned into a temporary hospital, they brought their own cleaners in. Was going to apply, but public transport is a joke and my bike conked out, (No near-by bike shops where open.
My games night is on hold.
On the plus side, my flat is getting more organised

I fine, just spend my time dealing with my long gaming backlog. Though I've had a ton of computer problems this year. And my cousin's old PS2 I got last year is unfortunately in so bad shape that I can barely play anything; won't read some discs and controllers aren't working properly. But with things that do work, I'm gaming almost as jolly as always. (Last month been mostly swearing at Xpand Rally.)

I have been okay so far. Lucky that I can work from home. I have a nearly 4 year old and a just turned 1 year old, my mrs doesn’t work, so it is great being at home with them all the time.
I’ve not done much gaming though. I bought the most recent Tomb Raider a few weeks back but still not opened it and I’m currently playing the original Broken Sword on my iPad.
I’m still collecting but very little is coming my way this year compared to last year. I’ve had a couple of good finds and too many close but no cigar deals.. annoying.
The main thing is that my family and all my friends are well.

I'm in healthcare, so I've been working and being very careful. Thankfully, we are OK.
Right now I'm mostly gaming using mini consoles of systems I did not own. Right now I have the NeoGeo Mini and the TurboGrafx 16 Mini. I think the latter is the better of the two.
I'm still collecting stuff, though. Today had some games arrive.

If anybody told me years ago that 2020 would be like this, i would've called for the mental hospital. Crazy times, right? As luck would have it: I actually contracted the faeces and was quarantined. Ever since then i have days with a heavy cough, like a chainsmoker and i don't smoke at all (never did) but at least otherwise this virus seems harmless. Except that our government here in Germany of course went apeshit with a total lockdown on everything and even now mandatory masks, barely anything is open. You go to a restaurant and you have to fill out a notice with your full name, adress, phone number. The dumbest thing is: Restaurants and Beer gardens have to close at 8pm for the outside, indoor is ok until 10pm. Why? Don't viruses spread a lot more indoor, than outdoor? At this point i'm just shaking my head at all this nonsense. And of course, i have a lot of time, on a positive note: I finally got around to watch Das Boot again, the full 5 hour version and getting into Deep Rock Galactic, who knew being a drunk dwarf is that much fun?

I remember wishing for 2019 to end hoping for 2020 to be better. So much for that!
