Had a great time as usual. It's always a shame when the day flies by. It was nice to meet first-time attendees edwithmj and Peder Johnsen along with the usual faces. My highlight was getting to play some 2-player co-op games with Ed. We got to play Secret Command, Time Soldiers, Bubble Bobble, Ms Pac Man, Super Space Invaders and my favourite, Double Dragon. The end fight between us to see who won the love of Mary Ann was epic! (He won). We also attempted to beat Wonder Boy in Monster Land together, with me playing and him providing invaluable guidance. We nearly managed it but those bloody rising platforms in the final castle screwed us over.
We didn't have a competition this year due to lack of time and generally poor organisation on our part. Phil refused my offer to put his reigning championship on the line in a game of Tecmo World Cup 93
It was also cool to see the new homebrew game Sydney Hunter in action, thanks to rupert bringing it along. I would like to give it a proper playthrough but I guess I'll have to wait until it becomes available to buy again.
