I have a Japanese Sega Master with an adaptor to play US and European games on that console. This give FM sound for the games that support it. I'm having issues with the Wonder Boy games.
Wonder in Boy in Monster Land: FM music but the text is in Japanese. Is there any way to have the text in English?
Wonder Boy III: not working at all?

Hi
I dont know the solution but ive also recently purchased a japanese master system and mine does exactly the same on wonderboy in monsterland.
Ive also noticed that the game bosses are more difficult, for instance the first boss needs 5 hits rather than 2. Im using my everdrive in the master system and I presumed I must have the japanese ROM but now im not so sure...

If that's the case then you will get the western version of the game when playing in a western system and the Japanese version when playing the same rom in a Japanese system.

The Japanese version (as in, when it's running on a Japanese system) has double the HP for every enemy. They dumbed it down for the export market.
