It's already March and we usually meet up in Summer. I thought I would get the ball rolling by throwing a date poll out there. You can pick up to 3 dates if you want,
Could the frequent attenders also state the date in the comments too. I would hate for someone who goes every year to miss out because the poll was swayed by someone who has never been and may not turn up (no offence at all to new comers and everyone is of course welcome!)
I have no idea yet on venue and open to suggestions. Zoo pub in Manchester and Bury Arcade Club have both worked well previously. Again add a comment if you have thoughts on a venue.

I've put 4th, 11th and 18th august. july is a bit sticky as wedding anniversary, wife's birthday etc are there as well as the usual commitments. my birthday is the 13th so I will probably book it off and go and do something.
Venue wise our preference is down to whether we just want master system, or if we want the full spectrum of gaming. those of us up north are lucky we have arcade club here but for the guys further north or south it isnt an option. Having grown up about 10 minutes drive from arcade club (about 5 minutes walk from where Ian stayed last year) I know all the hotels in a decent radius so if anyone wants help with that side of things then help.
Tempted to see if a couple of my master system enthusiast friends want to come, one has more ms stuff than me and the other is getting into retro and wants one at some stage (already has a snes, gb, dreamcast)

As much as I love the Arcade Club in Bury, it would be nice to go back to Pub Zoo in Manchester as most of us at this end of the country can go there at anytime but only get to meet up once a year so for me, with Pub Zoo allowing us to concentrate solely on our beloved Master System it's the only choice. What do you guys think?

Also I think some people from further away found it more difficult to get to. Pub Zoo is kind of ideal but does mean we would have to secure at least 3 CRT's to make that happen. I could try and get hold of some from somewhere before the event but I will have difficulty storing them afterwards.

I can do any of those dates so I'll use my 3 votes to go with the current majority.

Sat 18th August is looking like the front runner with 5 votes. Any more takers....?

I'm interested. Manchester isn't to far from Sheffield.

I'm really wanting to try and make it along this year, and 18th August, I think, would be about the best time to give me a chance to make it down!

Can any regulars not make that date? I probably can.

Can any regulars not make that date? I probably can. I’ll hedge my bets on being available.

It looks like Pub Zoo no longer exists! The venue has apparently been refurbished and is now known as The Flour and Flagon. I've contacted the venue anyway, to see what they say. Will keep you posted.

I can never make these events, but didn't you previously do the Lass O'Gowrie before the owners got forced out by some typical "we think we can make more money as a wine bar or flats" big brewery shenanigans? Was in there visiting friends in Manc earlier in the year and it was a solid pub again.
