First of all, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this and please move it mods if it isn't! My name is Kieren and represent Epyx Software, yes, the very same Epyx that produced such classics as California Games, Impossible Mission, Chip's Challenge, Temple of Apshai, Slime World, Blue Lightning, Summer Games and Jumpman (among many many others!) This year the Epyx name and brand is being relaunched with a bang and we will be releasing ports of our existing I.P., sequels to these classics and a host of new and original titles too for current gen consoles, Steam, mobile and, of course, retro machines too! So where do you lot come in I hear you ask? Well one of the formats we really want to support is the Master System! And I am lead to believe that this one of the best places to recruit coders, artists and musicians to work on these new games. So do you have a Sega game you would like to get professionally published where you can get paid and earn generous royalties on every cartridge sold? Maybe you would love to getting involving in porting classic Epyx games to other machines or creating sequels? Or perhaps you would like to get involved in producing cartridges, PCBs or designing boxes for these games? If you answered yes to any of the above or you have any questions then please reply or get in contact with me to discuss further!

What an announcement. This sounds very exciting. Just a few questions for you.
In terms of a projected date, when do foresee the first wave of releases? Is it absolutely confirmed you will be releasing physical games for retro consoles? Can you tell us which consoles? And for current consoles, is there a planned physical release or digital or both? Are there any specific titles you can confirm will be released? . . .
Damn, that Oil Barons cover art is just too sweet!

Yes, all our retro games will be full physical releases with an authentic box and instructions. 3. At the moment we have people developing games for the Master System, Mega Drive, Dreamcast, NES, SNES, Game Boy, Lynx, Jaguar, ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, PC Engine, ColecoVision and Atari 8-bit. 4. Modern games will mostly likely be digital only. 5. Our first game is likely to be the classic one-on-one fighter Barbarian across several consoles. And yes, that artwork is sweet!

When that time comes, where can you buy the games that are planned to be made as cib? Can we follow the process with the sms somewhere ? Maybe give feedback
I think it is amazing to follow projects like that.(specially the sms😉) There are some people in here that are really skilled at making sms games.

We will be setting up a website and a Facebook page in due course, once there is stuff to start reporting! We don't want to be announcing projects until they are almost ready to go to avoid disappointment and false hope but everything is definitely starting to fall into place. Of course I will be popping back here from time to time to update people too.

Thank you for the prompt and informative replies. Keep us informed regarding the upcoming website.
I'm very pleased to see some new SMS/SMD/SNES games from Epyx be announced. Unfortunately I wont be able to assist on the technical side but I will be following this project with eagerness and enthusiasm.
Will you be branching out into any merchandise such as posters, keyrings, figures or books to accompany the release of these games?

I have been waiting over a week for somebody to approve my Sega 16 account. I've sent emails, PMs and Facebook messages and nobody has replied to a single one of them! Your games look great though!

I had the same issue, never have gotten approval. I gave up after a month of messages that went by without reply.

The easiest and sometimes only way is for a member to bring your request for approval to an Admin.I was messaged back today with epyx request for membership and it's done. There's also a thread on sega16 that can be used to let Admins know others are trying to gain membership. Is your handle "Rastanfarian" also for sega16?

Yes -Rastanfarian was the handle I attempted to register. It's been maybe two years since I tried to sign up. Thanks for any help you can offer.
