Im in the US and have been (sort of) considering a japnese master system (not the mark 3). Anyone know how easy/difficult it may be to run? I know ill need, and already have, a voltage converter. How about the tv output? What would i have to do for it to work on a crt? How about an hd smart tv?

You don't need the voltage converter. TV output I seem to remember you set it to channel 3 and put it on 4. Not sure about an HD TV, however, this was on an older TV that I used it. Also I have one for sale. Eh, EH? CIB. Buy.

Are u sure i dont need a voltage converter? US outlets have more power than japanese outlets. Wouldnt it fry the console? Keep in mind, im only slightly considering it, not full on hunting it down. But i will ask how much. Any pics? Thanx

You can just use a normal sms 1 or 2 power supply that you (presumably) already have on a Japanese Master System. No need to buy a converter or anything.

So i got me one. Love it! Have a sms to mark iii adapter, so im playing my us carts with fm sound. Also have a couple mark iii carts, including phantasy star, and i am loving the fm sound for that game! Couple more questions. The power light flashes when rapid fire is on, i assume thats normal? Also, theres a couple games (galactic protector, alex kidd bmx, woody pop) that requires the paddle controller. Its very pricey, is there ANY other option?

Rapid fire instructions copied from a post over at smspower...
To enable it, press and hold the Rapid fire button, and then press button 1 or 2. The LED will start blinking, and now you can let go of the rapid fire button. At any point later on you can press and hold the rapid fire button and then press button 1 or 2 to disable rapid fire mode.
Rapid fire works for both buttons 1 and 2 but not any of the directions. The LED blinks as long as any controller's buttons have rapid fire applied. Here are some examples:
Reset -> Hold Rapid, Press 1 (LED starts blinking) -> Release Rapid (Now button 1 has rapid fire)
Hold Rapid, Press 2 (LED continues to blink) -> Release Rapid (Now buttons 1 and 2 have rapid fire)
Hold Rapid, Press button 1 then button 2 (LED stays lit) -> Release Rapid (Now rapid fire is disabled)
All of this works for the 2nd controller port too, so at most you can toggle rapid fire on for all four buttons (1,2 on 1st port, 1,2 on 2nd port).

So, the mk-2000 i bought came with a scart cable. I have no experience with scart. The tv i use for gaming is a flat screen crt. Has a component hook up. Ive searched for scart to component converters but they dont appear to have audio out. Correct me if im wrong but the sms scart has audio capabilities. So, how do i go about using this?
