All the big youtube channels will have review units now so I will keep a look out for more thoughts .

Yeah it's a terribly written article because it focuses on nitpicking (can't plug a cart in while it's on DUH) but frameskips for 16 bit emulation is unforgivable. Fusion runs fine on a potato so whatever do they have in there, a 7 year old Android phone running GenPlusDroid?
Also not mentioned in reviews but lots of comments saying original 3 button pads don't work.
Honestly a Raspberry Pi running RetroPie sounds like a far better emulation solution and is half the price.

Yeah I guess you don't even need a raspberry pie , just emulate them from your laptop , would be less hassle . But the vast majority of people buying these systems will have no clue about emulation or even know what a raspberry pie is . They won't be people who are seriously into the hobby , they just enjoyed the games as kids and just want a pick up and play on their HD tv . My brother in law is a good example , he played my nes mini all last Christmas and loved it , but he is a builder and is not in any way computer literate so this would be great for him . These aren't priced that bad IMO , plus they are collectable and hold value , I could sell my nes mini for 3 times what I paid tomorrow , god knows what price the snes mini will be going for come Christmas .

I mentioned the Pi because you can use it for the same living room purpose and it has far better emulation than this box. Sure anyone who doesn't know the first thing about emulation can grab one of these - and have a horrible experience with it. There's no excuse for putting out shoddy Mega Drive emulation and by buying it you're just letting AtGames continue to churn these out.
The NES Mini is an official Nintendo product, it has value for that reason and maintains it because they made so few of them. This isn't of collector value - there are loads of these out there and they've never been any good. For the NES Mini-esque haul of old games, there were great Mega Drive compilations released on the previous two generations of consoles - and they don't have horrible frameskip and sound problems.

I have had a few friends ask about these. I keep trying to steer them clear and pushing them towards genuine hardware and an everdrive cart. The problem is the price point, I'm asking them to leave this and pay at least 3 times more for what in thier eyes is just the same
