For years now, I've been slowly finishing up my Master System collection.
I started with American games (because that's where I live), branched out into European games, and even went so far as to dabble in Japanese and Brazilian releases. I'm not trying to collect everything, just the games I like.
I've had many a struggle in my quest, along with the usual setbacks and successes, but after plenty of searching, spending and patience, I'm finally down to just one last game to go.
And Holy Hell, has it been a pain to track down.
Laser Ghost is the bane of my existence. I first bought a copy of it probably 4-5 years ago off of eBay. I went with it because it was a light gun game, and I liked the specific version of the artwork it had:

I got the game, had some fun with it, but noticed the artwork was a bit ratty. The corners of the spine were worn away, and upon closer inspection, I saw that there was a little bit of water damage on it too. I decided to hold onto it anyway, but made a mental note to keep an eye out for a nicer copy.
Months went by, and very rarely did another copy of it show up for sale, and when one did, I sent a message to seller, who turned out to be a real jerk and banned me from his auction when I asked about its condition. I got around that anyway by getting another person on here to snag it for me, but alas, when I got it, there was a big ol' puncture mark on the back of the box.
And thus my search began again.
The third one I bought from a German seller would have been absolutely perfect, EXCEPT... it was sun-faded.
The fourth one, which I bought from an Australian who overcharged me by quite a bit ("because certainly it's worth more since its rare" :eyeroll:) as part of a deal for another game, sent me one with stains AND a ripped corner.
Just today, my fifth copy arrived from a Spanish fellow, who like all the others claimed it was in good shape. This one had water stains and a shredded corner too.
Never have I had so much trouble finding an undamaged copy of a game before. Every copy of this I've come across has been damaged in one way or another. It's driving me nuts.
Anyone have similar stories they'd like to share?
