My post was related to the fact that he doesn´t recruit new moderators!!

The board requires minimal moderation and we've never had a problem managing with myself and the others still around (Playgen & Stan).
If your reasoning is that you want to make the forum more active, I would argue that you don't need moderator powers for that.

I wholeheartedly agree. Think of interesting things to post - maybe a guide on making perler bead pixel art, or your thoughts on your collection. Long form reviews are notably rare and the game club is right there.

I don’t want to create a new thread and this is a similar subject so I’m adding to it -
Looking back over many threads on this forum I cannot help feel that it is a massive shame so may image links are now broken. Probably many images are not exciting but also many are of Master System treasure! Long lost now and may not be seen again. I just wanted to ask if there is anything at all that can be done to get them back?
My thoughts are that there are internet time machines and we could go back to when they worked.. capture them and put them all on a good hosting site (with a back up!) and then edit the posts to give the new link/ display the correct picture. I’ve not used one of those time machines for a while though and not sure if it would work this way?
I realise this would actually be a massive job to do and as I said a lot of the photos might be uninteresting. However I’m willing to work as part of team to try and do something like this over time if it’s actually possible?
Any thoughts?

This is why for many years we've been manually changing people's images into attachments at SMS Power. The "internet time machines" tend not to have this stuff and basically 100% of free image hosts either disappear or delete old images. There isn't an easy solution.

That’s a shame but good effort on smspower’s part. I’m going to try and save as many interesting Master System images as possible so they don’t get lost.

It's a real shame this is so restrictive. I guess 200mb used to be enough in the old days as we never ran out of space. Images are huge these days compared to what they used to be and looks like proboards hasn't really changed. I remember we got around this for a while by having a page that allowed users to upload pics to the FTP. It was insecure as hell though and cost us a hack at one point. It was removed after that. I guess a good alternative was never really found.

I’ve recently been saving old pictures from my collection. I noticed a lot of my recent pick ups pics had vanished. I proper enjoy reading the old stuff and recently discovered photobucket is still around which I used for uploading a large part of the forum post pictures, although they now want a fixed fee a month if you have more than 250 uploads so had to delete a lot of lesser quality uploads to view the majority of my posts. On a side note great to see a lot of old timers posting within a short period of time. I always wanted to attend one of the forum meet ups but with covid don’t think that will be for a very long time haha
