Alex the Kidd is my all time favourite game, Would love to own a physical copy of 2. You'd think you would know that the name is "Alex Kidd" and not "Alex the Kidd" if it was your all-time fave. I thought the publicity would bring the rip off BINmen out of the woodwork.

Alright, chill out pedant. I always called it Alex the Kidd when I was young - it was only as an adult I realised I'd been calling it the wrong name! I think it's a fairly common mistake.

Oh, pedant? Judging by your posts, your only interest in this site is buying and selling, so I reckon you'd be concerned about all the speculators sniffing around this thread.

Show me one post where I've discussed selling. I do of course discuss buying because, well, it's the way you add to your collection.
Some people are just dickheads I suppose.

At the risk of stating the obvious, buying and selling are the two sides to the same coin, and from what I can see they are the only aspects of the SMS that you have ever discussed on this forum. And of course, you were lurking around in this thread keeping an eye on opportunities until you decided to pipe up to mess with me. Most people with a genuine interest take part in other types of conversations here, that's all I'm saying. If you want to throw in with all of these 1-post lifelong fans of Alex 'the' Kidd who suddenly showed up looking for a chance at a collector's item to quickly turn around and sell, feel free.

All I did was say that it's a common mistake and jokingly call you a pedant - chill out, there's no need to be on so on edge.
As for the buying/selling argument, I'd suggest that you were implying that I had an interest in the game other than actually owning a copy. Which you've reinforced in your most recent post, so cheers for that.
I've been a member here for just under 10 years. Yes, I don't post often, but I don't just discuss buying (or selling at all) either. And what does that have to do with you anyway? Why are you so keen to trawl through my posts and cast judgement, just because I defended a guy who made a common mistake with the title of a game? How does that mean I'm "throwing in" with them?
I don't know who made you the gatekeeper for deciding who has a "genuine interest" or not - I suspect noone, and you're just the sort of miserable individual who can be found in any niche hobby, always keen to call others out for not being "proper" fans.

Oh, you're a joker. Okay. What actually happened is that I was indeed implying that the person who doesn't know the title of their "favorite" game might have some sort of speculator's interest in a new, potentially valuable collector's item. I hadn't even heard of you until you popped up and inserted yourself into the discussion. Why shouldn't I look through your posts? Take a look through mine some time - you might see some examples of how to provide something of intangible value to a discussion forum. This is a hobby about games, joyful experiences, which I usually focus on. If all you're about is buying it's no wonder you're trying to project your misery on me.

And as I said, it's a common mistake. Perhaps he is someone who's just trying to grab a copy and sell, who knows - I like to reserve judgement. But we all called it "Alex the kidd" in our house when I was a kid, and so did a few of my friends I met at University who also played the game. It's no reason to jump on someone.
I'll leave it there, as I don't want to derail ian's thread any further. My advice to you would be to not be so eager to sh*t on other posters that you (for some reason) feel are beneath you.

Almost everyone I know who had or played an SMS as a kid calls it "Alex the Kidd". My parents called it Alex the Kidd. It even fits the title screen music.
I don't think we need to be elitist and require a certain level of contribution or accuracy to judge someone a "true fan". This isn't the early 2000s alternative rock scene.

Wow what can I say about this, Besides get a life, I started playing this game before I could walk, as a kid I always called it Alex The Kidd and force of habit keeps it that way. That's all I need to say in this matter.

Can someone help? I'm in what I assume is the final castle, but I appear to have hit a dead end. I went down a ladder into this room, but I'm totally stuck. There's no exit and going back up the ladder is blocked.

I've written comments on various Youtube channels so far but let me tell you, Ian while we still might disagree over Pro Wrestling (and you bet your ass, brother, we will never agree about that one, brother ) i have to say this is the best thing from any homebrew crowd ever. I really enjoyed the game, it is really what i wanted from a second Miracle World...altough, no jankenpon boss battle...really? :-p But other than that, the level design, the music, everything is so awesome. Altough i think the biggest praise came from my father, he's still a gamer at heart, doesn't play as much as he did 30 years ago but i told him "It's Alex Kidd done right!" and he was interested, he played it and said "this was done by some guy? not Sega? Wow!" he was totally blown away from it

Despite the janken matches being pretty synonmous with the original game, I was never a fan, so decided to take them out. Now to make Pro Wrestling 2
