How's it going?
New to the forum, and sadly wish I knew about it before.
Anyways, growing up, my family was pretty poor. I played Atari at friends homes, and always wanted a system of my own. When the Sega Master System and NES came out, I decided I would own a system of my own. I cut my neighbors grass, and ran errands for the seniors that lived near me (I was in elementary school and I'd go buy them cigarettes, have times changed).
After a year or more of savings I was ready to buy. A few of my friends had NES, and no one I knew had SEGA. I use to go to Montgomery Wards once in a while with my parents. Every time I'd go I'd run up stairs to the SEGA kiosk and play.
That's when I realized I needed to get an SMS.
I purchased my system, and went home to play. I couldn't believe I finally had a system of my own. All my friends thought I should of gotten a NES, so we could borrow games from each other. To late, I got a SMS, and have never regretted it in my life.
To make a long story short, I love SEGA. Ive owned a SMS, Genesis, Nomad, sega CD, 32x, gamegear, Saturn, and Dreamcast.
I just picked up a SMS, with a few games, and my goal is to collect every game I owned in the past. I probably ended up having at least 50 SMS games, so it'll be hard work and fairly expensive, but I miss my SMS. I stopped playing games, because I feel they got too complicated, and they became more show (graphics) than fun. In addition, games were being mass produced and discounted that I started taking them for granted. If a new game wasnt very fun, Id go by another discounted game. Prior to that I'd play the heck out of games, sometimes up to 12 hours a day
(I'll add more here tomorrow)
Hope to read similar stories, and see what the SMS community is all about.
