This is the device I'm referring to: I bought it (a few years ago) for the purpose of using it with my Sega CDX and 32X. And have subsequently discovered that it also works via this connector (pic below) with my US Master System Model 1, and the Mark III. I'm satisfied with the picture quality, but the thing is I get no audio when using it with my SMS or my Mark III. Is there an alternate way to get sound out of these consoles when using this device? My last remaining CRT has only Composite and S-Video out. And I prefer the CRT's S-Video visuals when using that convertor device, rather than those of RGB SCART to Component or RGB SCART to HDMI on my HDTV's.

Talk about a ghost town. Over 10 months later, guess I'll answer my own question, then. lol It may help somebody else as well. Who knows. So the folks over at HD Retrovision have a couple Component Cables (Genesis and SNES) that they have had on the market for a fair bit of time now. With regard to their Genesis/Mega Drive version, They're selling a specific Model 2 to Model 1 A/V Port Adapter. The one below, shop.hdretrovision.com/collections/accessories/products/model-2-to-model-1-genesis-a-v-port-adapterThis enables me now to get audio out of my SMS Model 1's and my Mark III, when I'm using that XMD-3 device of mine.

10 months ive spent researching that answer for you and you beat me to it - damn! ;-) Good info 👍 Good one. lol Off topic, Seriously, though, I've seen more action watching grass grow. I'm talking wrt these message boards as a whole. But then again, I guess, that's a trend with most retro based gaming forums. At least you guys aren't as bad as that for the old 3DO. That forum (3DO Zone) has had its Google presence almost completely nuked.

It's possible no other users here actually have it. I think you're right - there seems to be a universal slowdown in activity on forums of all types. On a brighter note, thank you for taking the time to come back and answer your own question, as there have been numerous times I've looked up a technical issue online and have found ones where the original poster returns simply to say "nvm, figured it out" and it's a useless link.

I must be honest, I kept quiet as I have no idea what the XMD-3 is, as have never used S-Video. Again, thank you for coming back with your own answer as this will no doubt be of help to someone in the future with the same question you initially had. Sorry to not be any use.

I'm quite a newbie so have no idea what this was or is 😂 Lol. The quiz and gaming club has livened the board up though.

It's all good. And of course you guys are right in that it is a pretty obscure device. Anyways, I'll pop in every now and again. Maybe try and contribute in a few threads.
