Great I'll add them. I think it might be worth highlighting the 'SM' games that have only been found with Italian manuals. I could put '***' next to them and add the details at the bottom of the list. Are you aware of which have only been found with Italian manuals, not English out of all the 'SM' games? I suppose it depends somewhat on whether this list is trying to document box art variations or release variations. For example, Marksman Shooting/Trap Shooting/Safari Hunt: the English SM box art was used for the English version in UK/HK, the Italian version, and occasionally the German version. I do wonder in 2016 if it would be possible to document all of those individual release variants, given how many manuals will have been swapped over the years? I suppose the main thing was to document the cover variations but pointing out the regions too does clear that up for people who don't know where to look for these things or think they have something odd because the manual is Italian etc.

I'll post a photo later. I mentioned it in the post about (Populous and) Super Kick Off: the actual description text is in 5 languages, but there's "Dutch/Swedish/Finnish instructions included" on those three languages. Looking at scans in SMSPower, both of those are 5+3; are you sure there's a 6L variant? Mine is the B version. A variantB variant

quite like the other versions, just without ® bad camera and worse photographer but you can see what's there and what isn't The little barcode sticker says "MK-5057-50" (what is that -50 btw? I've wondered why some games have it in the end of number) The barcode number is 4 974365 632571

So it's technically an 8 language cover.

It is English only with an ®, like Bank Panic and Spy Vs Spy cards. So it looks like they switched from SM to ® just before they changed to 5 language covers. Just three known games with this cover type. I would put it in the SM English category with a note that it is ®. This one came from Hong Kong, there isn't a known Italian manual variant of Space Harrier. I guess that it's possible that it was also released in Australia in small numbers. The manual is identical to the US release, but without the Sega of America stuff on the back page. Interestingly the Sega of America warranty page is still included. Is this normal for English only PAL releases? I don't have any others to check. Full sizeFull Size

I'm reasonably sure that a few others exist but can't confirm them. The manual is identical to the US release, but without the Sega of America stuff on the back page. Just checked all of my English cards and none of them have the SoA warranty page.

Here's the English only ones; Astro Warrior / Pit Pot Choplifter (no picture of back, so can't confirm not US version) Marksman Shooting / Trap Shooting / Safari Hunt Pro Wrestling Secret Command The Ninja Also these cards with English only manuals; F-16 Fighter Ghost House (no picture of back, so can't confirm not US version) My Hero (no picture of back, so can't confirm not US version) Teddy Boy (no picture of back, so can't confirm not US version) And an English Wonder Boy located in Spain; Thanks, that's interesting.

I'll re-upload photos in the card variations thread soon.

I've started the slow process of checking my games for variants, and can confirm Alex Kidd: High Tech World - No ® (6L) does exist.

A few more on top of what has already been confirmed in this thread: Alex Kidd in Shinobi World - No ® (6L) Alien Syndrome - No ® (5L) Altered Beast - No ® (5L) EDIT: I've scanned and emailed these to Maxim for SMSPower... although some of the scans I sent two years ago haven't made it on to the site yet, so I suspect he has a bit of a backlog to work through.
