thanks guys, i've quite enjoyed doing it. hopefully there can be another forum activity in the near future weather it be another tournament, quiz, comp or whatever. I think regular interactive events on the forum might be the key to keeping it active. There isnt quite enough new discoveries to find or new questions to answer to keep it buzzing. As for this final.. I can't choose yet. I'm torn between Sonic, Land of Illusion, Lucky Dime Caper and Master of Darkness. I'll have to have another look next week. Judging by the commentd so far there isnt a clear cut winner at all! massive thanks for doing it buddy, ive loved looking at all the covers and the convos they are creating

I must say I think this final stage of box art is weaker than nearly every stage 2 group. I truly believe that some games got pushed through (voted for) based on a nostalgic memory or game play. I mean for the Disney games to make it to the final proves this. We're all about the same age here, give or take a few years. Do "grown" men really find Mickey and Donald cover art to be good? Disappointed with the final outcome... But no worries, to each his own!

Some nice choices. My non gamer fiancé likes Sagaia as it is the prettiest apparently. I voted for Master of Darkness.

I tried to judge based on the artwork itself, as if it were a framed painting, and not with any nostalgic value attached. But I can understand that people want to see their nostalgic favorites appreciated, too. If I was going on nostalgia, I guess I would have gone "The Ninja" all the way. As for the Disney images, to me it just looks like standard Disney stuff... technically it's fine but it's also bog standard and commonplace to the point of almost being generic. In any event, I think the tournament has been a great success overall! And it should have some good replay value for the next time it happens. Everyone who voted my way should be receiving their checks in the mail soon, too.

The Disney covers don't do it for me, nothing against them but it's just typical Disney art work, I think nostalgia has played a major factor in this final as a few members have already admitted voting because of it. But I must admit, this tournament has been great fun, Rupert did a great job! Hopefully we can organise more in the near future

I tried to make sure that whatever I voted on was SOLELY based on the art, nothing else. But obviously some people remembered certain titles from childhood. In addition, I avoided voting on a game if it's art was found elsewhere. Unique for me made the most sense.

I would have gone with Aztec Adventure or Psycho Fox if it was a nostalgia based poll.

I think nostalgia only got in the way on 1 of my pics, but even then it was nostalgia of the artwork over the game (Sonic). Most of my pics were based on my picturing myself in Toys R Us back in the early 90's with just £30 in my pocket and having to decide based on just the cover arts.

I missed the other stages, I voted for sonic was close between that or masters of darkness. How well did deep duck trouble and cheese car-astrophie do?

Cheese Cat-astrophe didnt get out of Stage 1 (Group L) and only received 3 votes. Deep Duck Trouble did better, progressing to Stage 2 (Group D) but then only receiving 3 votes.
