There were larger CRT's available, the Sony one I had was certainly larger than 28" (and heavier than a human). It was wide screen though so not sure if you mean in the boxed image as 28" No shame in bin raking lol, if i seen a console in a skip id be in there head first. I got an OG Xbox from the tip once, replaced the HD and it was good as new. Guy told me to help myself. Be good to find out how they recycle these parts. Whether they take certain items for spares or repair or just strip them down. Legal wise it did come back to me that when i worked for a large retailer I was told it was illegal to skip raid as trespassing and theft. Not sure if local authorities have the same restrictions though. Wouldn't surprise me as we now need to show ID when using the local tip (to prove we are in the postcode area). One mans junk is another mans gold FB Marketplace is definitely worth a look! At the moment there is a sweet 28" Panasonic CRT widescreen with stand and remote (all working) for £35 in Cardif (sure thats where the OP said he was near)

I just went to my local recycle place after work and asked, and they guy said it'd be a big no no. They also have cameras so 🤷 (I don't think they asks for ID yet in that one, at least nobody asked me today FB Marketplace is definitely worth a look! I'm interested in a 20-21" one, preferably of a make/type that's not "too heavy" . I wish I had seen this when it was posted www.gumtree.com/p/televisions-plasma-lcd-tvs/panasonic-tv.-in-sheringham.-reduced-to-make-room./1328961541 as it's near identical to the one I had in Norway (mine might've been just mono), and those were bearable to carry on your own .

Thanks! It doesn't have any fancy s-video inputs or anything, but it works for my needs

Ok, so I haven't seen one in the wild for pretty much forever, today I went somewhere on the train that was a little too far to bring anything bulky back if I saw it. Two small TVs. TWO!!!
They also had a modern monitor which would have been perfect for my home office when I set it up
