This strikes me as a potentially contentious issue, but I have to ask - which way to you place your cartridges inside their cases? With the label to the right and the PCB to the left? Or the label on the left and the PCB to the right? Or, does it not really matter to you?
Personally, I put the label to the right and the PCB to the left, because I think the contacts are just a bit more protected that way. Also, this makes it so the text on the label reads from top to bottom, like the text on a book's spine when it's on the shelf. Lastly, I'm pretty sure that's how the cartridges came when they were brand new. But, I've seen quite a few used cartridges oriented the other way. What's your preference?

I always do it your way and although I've never thought there's any rhyme or reason to it for me and that perhaps it's just some sort of OCD preference it makes sense that I might have intuitively been protecting the PCB, which would be immediately exposed upon opening if you stored it the other way.

I put my carts the same way as you, PCB towards the spine, because that's the way they came packaged originally. I've opened loads of sealed games over the years and they were all facing that way

If you're right handed then label to the right requires less effort to move the cart to/from the system.

Agreed, label on right same as originally packaged. Bigger question what order do you keep your games/collection in? Alphabetical, Numerical, Year released? Do you separate by regions, NTSC, PAL, NA/EU/JAP/BRA/AUS ? I am sure storage space probably limits most of us from displaying our collection's exactly how we want.

I do it the same: Label to the right and i put the manual in with the game title facing the left. Looks best to me that way. Bigger question what order do you keep your games/collection in? Alphabetical. Everything else is too complicated

Label on the right, how is there any other option? Also, alphabetical by title except where a series starts getting weirdly named sequels. Which I don't think applies to SMS. I do separate by console otherwise it'd be weird!

Label on the right, PCB on the left. Is this how they came from the factory? Haven't bought a brand new SMS game in 24 years so I forget lol.
As for sort order, I list them in what I call "buyable" order, meaning Hang On/Safari Hunt is first, and next game I bought and so on.

I like that idea of storing them in order obtained. Alphabetical is okay. I've tried several orders. I have settled on keeping them together by cover styles. Action, Arcade, New, etc.

Label on the right, the main reason being because that is how it was packaged when sold. The fact that it is also readable top to bottom is also a nice bonus.
I used to group everything alphabetical by publisher, but as I got more and more Euro titles it became tough to find the game I was looking for in that order. Now it's just all alphabetical.

Never really thought about it until this very topic but I set it in the right. Just assume its because I'm right handed and feels more natural.

I like to see them on my shelf alphabetically. It makes it easier to locate games.

Label on the right pcb facing left (spine),I hold box with right hand and insert cart with left if that makes any difference.
