This was one of my favourite games when I was young, not because it was really that good - but it had a very cool concept. Little boys love robots and "Cyborgs" are even cooler. Combine that with the ultra-cool box art which at the time the like of which hadn't been see on any sms games) and the result is cool, but flawed game.
This game had some great ideas such as the hover board, weapon switching using 2nd controller, mini-maps and proximity sensors, the "ray gun" to illuminate dark levels. But as Stan says, the enemies are just a little disappointing and don't really seem very Cyborg-like.
I played though Borgman and Cyborg Hunter, the only difference I can find is the annoying Aida women is replaced by some Asian chick in the communicator scenes.
Game mechanics are pretty solid, the strange thing is that when you jump in the air you can change direction mid-air - it works well, but seems a little odd.
I've finished this quite a few times before, but never really noticed the Trevor and Catherine popping up. The ending where you see the three other cyborgs is cool, but doesn't really explain anything - I'm not really sure what I'm looking at.
Conclusion - Good game, but gets a little repetitive, some of the enemies are crappy and the weapons could use some work- this could have been an awesome contra-style shooter.

Good to hear from you bud! How's the family?
I've never really played Cyborg Hunter properly. You make it sound pretty good though so I'll definitely give it a go.

I remember enjoying this game a lot, but found it too hard back in the day (I was 8 or 9 I think). I will have to give it another go and post another reply!
But isn't Lance Storm from Ontario? He was billed from Calgary for a while... But hey what does a Quebecer like me know?
But back to Cyborg Hunter, I will have to try to check those enemy patterns now that I retry it and maybe I won't suck as much! The concept is really cool with the blonde lady giving you orders full-screen style and the elevators and maps and all...

That weird moment when you think you have found the most odd wrestling reference ever in a gaming thread just to realize you made the reference in the first place.
But wikipedia says that you are right, he is originally from Ontario.
