I don't think there will ever be a definitive Canadian release list, but the more UPCs that can be confirmed, the better.

Yeah, it's a tiny market to define and doesn't have near the interest US UPCs have. Has anyone seen a US release with the Canadian UPC on it? My Golvellius does, but that's because RPGs were never released to multi-lanugage markets, so even the UK they were still just English only.

May be a dumb question, but are SMS games interchangeable region wise? Like, can any SMS play any regions games?

Other than JP/Korean titles, the SMS games are region free. Makes it great for people like myself who live in the states to get to experience the entire SMS library!

They are indeed region free, but brazilian games like Sonic Blast have problems on an SMS1 console (glitches).

That's awesome news. I haven't owned a real SMS since I was a kid, all I do is emulate them now because I wasn't sure if I'd have to worry about regions. This may have to change

I just found out about Canadian releases today when trying to track down the origin of some UPC sticker games I had found for sale. My first thought was that these were some sort of failed release test, but after some digging I found the answer. I'm curious though, if these Canadian UPC Sticker releases have any higher rarity/collectors value. Well, I guess the rarity goes without saying, compared to the entirety of Europe where the Master System was actually popular, but, the games are priced high in comparison to their European counterparts, and I'm wondering how much extra value is brought by the sticker. Considering the way video game prices are skyrocketing, one could potentially just create demand by putting a super high price on ebay, (I doubt many collectors are even aware of these games) but that would make it very difficult for the few people who have been working on Canadian collections for years, and I'm the kind of person who would feel bad for being responsible for that.
So, I dunno if I want these or not. The collector in me is drawn to their obscurity and the fact that these aren't likely to come around again easily. The seller is going to raise the price if I don't buy them today, and I can't really blame him because he's had them as the original owner. I'm kind of tempted, but I'd be paying double of the high-end for the European releases, however, they're minty. I know because I got others from him. I've said before that I wouldn't buy a UPC Sonic if it wasn't cheap, but, whatever crazy price people are paying for UPC Sonic now is still considerably more than what I'm talking about here, and I happily paid higher than these games in question for CIB Power Strike II, which I believe is even less rare. (however, that IS the best 8-bit shooter tenfold)
Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated. I know from recent collecting that finding some of the more obscure US releases has become pretty competitive. Mostly, I just want my complete US collection. I don't want to open the black hole of trying to make a complete Canadian collection when nobody knows how many or just how rare they are. But... I don't want to pass up on something I may not find again because I didn't know what it was worth.
