Games of interest
Re-release games
Re-release games article and US Blue Label/Re-release Gallery
Alex Kidd in Miracle World (Red cart label) (SMS II came with a re-release Alex Kidd booklet with blue title text. The Alex Kidd re-release game came with a re-release booklet with black title text.)
Black Belt (Red cart label)
Choplifter (Red cart label)
Fantasy Zone (Red cart label, only game in both red and blue in re-release form)
Phantasy Star (Red cart label) "With Battery Back-Up Memory" at the upper right, as well as the typical differences on the back of box.
(The following two games were only available with a blue label)
Alex Kidd in Shinobi World (Blue cart label only)
Slap Shot (Blue cart label only)
California Games (Blue cart label, normal insert & booklet)
California Games (Blue cart label, 1990 insert & booklet)
Double Dragon (Blue cart label)
Enduro Racer (Blue cart label)
Ghostbusters (Blue cart label)
Fantasy Zone (Blue cart label, only game in both red and blue in re-release form)
Out Run (Blue cart label)
Rambo First Blood Part II (Blue cart label)
Reggie Jackson Baseball (Blue cart label)
Notes:
1: All re-release manuals say 1990 on the back and are on a less slick matte paper.
2: Sega Master System II came out around 1990 same as blue labels to match the blue Sega logo
3: First 5 re-releases in red before SMS II
4: California games came in blue with the normal case insert and normal booklet. It also has a true re-release with 1990 booklet and insert. California Games is the 1st blue label game which is why blue labels came with old versions of the case and book.
5: On all re-releases of both California Games and Double Dragon the "Sega" logo on the box will be missing the ® symbol. This is true for the spine logo as well. On the back near the bottom there will be no mention of Tonka in the copyright information.
US UPC Stickers
0 10086 07505 2 - Golden Axe Warrior
0 10086 07076 7 - Sonic the Hedgehog
0 10086 07065 1 - Spider-Man (Larger sticker that includes copyright info)
0 10086 09005 5 - Strider
Notes: The above four games are the last games to be sold in the United States with Sonic being the last. It's believed to save money Sega of America did not have these games changed to a US format (English text on box and vertical style booklet) Up until these games all US games only had English text. They are identical to the European versions with the exception of a small UPC sticker placed on the outside of the game case over the European UPC on the case insert. It's been mentioned that US game labels have a dull finish while European game labels were more glossy, it's unknown if this applies to these four games. Golden Axe Warrior has a vertical booklet and there is only English text on the back of the box which matches all the European RPG games which may have to do with in game text being English.

Notes: It's believed "Sega for the 90's" stickers were exclusive to the US. However, there are confirmed cases of these games being sold in other countries which may have to do with unsold stock being sent to other countries the same is true with re-release games. All these games should have three stickers one on the back of the box, one on the back of the instruction book and one on the cartridge.
Errors
Error sheets
1987 Catalog - Correction sheet
Alien Syndrome - Correction sheet
Alex Kidd Miracle World - Correction sheet
Notes: the above three items were all just a single loose page (not stapled in) added to the booklets to make error corrections. All three items can be found with and without the extra page.
Games with an error
Mono Poly / Monopoly (Cart label spelling error)
Psyco Fox / Psycho Fox (Cart label spelling error)
Super Wonder Boy Super Monster Land / Wonder Boy in Monster Land (Cart label mistake)
Shinobi (Box Corrected 5 missions 19 rounds)
Shinobi (Box Error 5 missions 15 rounds)
Notes: The Wonder Boy game was known as Wonder Boy in Monster Land on the SG-1000 and updated to Super Wonder Boy Super Monster Land on the Mark III in Japan. A mistake by the distributing team the "Super" title was carried over and later corrected, the game itself is the same.

I would appreciate any help with added info, spelling mistakes, suggestions and so on. This is what I have so far and already see quite a few things that can be added. I'd like to add fine details like the ℠ or ® variations and so on. I'll be adding more like the hardware items and extras.
