Found it on Ebay last Week. I was happy that i did found the "normal" Card Version, (Didnt knew that there was a "Red" Version). When i found out that this one isnt the normal Version, i did some research and landed here. And as i read that there are 3 known copys i was pretty sure that this was a fake. But if you tell that its genuine, than im of course happy Thanks Heres the link to the Auction on Ebay www.ebay.de/itm/282305250301?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITThanks

I wonder just how many of these were actually produced. For 5 to have turned up over the years that our small forum is aware of then there must have been quite a few to begin with.
I hardly ever check eBay anymore but this thread has made me think maybe I should browse a little more often!

What makes me "thinking" of if thisone is genuine vor not is the fact, that if you search in eBay for ended "Hang on Sega card" Auction, the seller once did put this in eBay, but nobody buyed it, this one is the second time he out it ob eBay. Normally, if something rare is in eBay, buy it now auctions for sure, are sold quickly. But not this one. Hooe you understand what i wqnt to say. AS i told you, my english is Bad :-) nearbythiscafe sorry i forgot to tell that i did not think about selling. I did have a nice collection of NES/SNES and now i was begnning to collect Sega stuff as well. And i dont know, even if i wanted to sell this, how much it is worth now.

That was an amazing deal! Obviously didn't sell the first time because there's no "Master System" in the title.
All known copies have English cover / manual?

I hardly ever check eBay anymore but this thread has made me think maybe I should browse a little more often! These were samples supplied to distributors prior to release. They were used to demo to magazines, retailers etc. You can see "red Hang On" featured in many magazine articles from 1986/7. Mainly Ariolasoft in Germany, but also in France when it released a year later. The fact that they were still supplying these samples a year after the retail version of Hang On was available suggests that they manufactured quite a few. Probably dozens, maybe hundreds. These aren't the same ROMs as the final releases either, they generally feature prototype code.

This actually could be, but why nobody has this? Even for collectors this is a "wanted" Item. Seems like it isnt much spread around. Didnt eher knew that there were Prototypes of Games.

Here are some Pictures. If you want/need more details, please tell me. Beautiful! Congrats. It always surprises me to see it show up on ebay and sell for a low amount. I think that is two now found on ebay germany for under $30 in the last year or two. Incredible
