I am fairly new to collecting master system games and starting to buy more pal games. (Live in the US)
I see in certain regions games like sonic spinball, Daffy Duck in Hollywood are harder to find in the UK but seems to be easier to find in Australia.
How do you tell the diffence between a UK game vs a Ozisoft game, manual and box? and is the value much different?

Here's some of the main differences. Smaller boxes and inserts. Sometimes the artwork is the same as Euro games but the insert is clipped to fit the box, with other games it's the same general insert but adjusted to fix a smaller box (Asterix) or can have unique insert artwork (Sonic Spinball). You can also see that the inside of Ozisoft boxes are embossed with "MADE IN AUSTRALIA. OZI SOFT PTY LTD" Cartridge stickers are usually a lot cheaper looking and less glossy. The grid pattern is almost always white instead of black and the colour can be brown or red. You can see the rougher looking, lower quality plastic used in this pic too. The back of the cart says "Made in Australia" not "Made in Japan". Also the screws used are different as you can see in the pic - not sure if this is unique to ozisoft games though. Manuals are English only and are generally fold out and not stapled. Though there are all kinds of manual variations. Manuals often but not always have "Printed in Australia" on the back too. They look to be printed different shades of blue also but I haven't compared all that many. And that's the main points covered I think. If anyone else has anything to add or correct please do

That is exactly what I was looking for! I definetly have a better understanding on the difference between the games now. Thanks for the great explanation Josh.

Interesting stuff - is there a definitive list of Ozisoft released games?

Was just thinking this thread should really be moved to "The Games" should anyone want to find it in the future! I'll update it when I can with some of the more interesting Aussie variants like Daffy Duck, etc...

Is it possible, that the original folded manuals aren't folded precisely as mine? ibb.co/mUYW2bHere are some other pics of the manual. But i think it is not possible to tell, if it is a replicate or not. ibb.co/iQ44Nb ibb.co/cKPFTG ibb.co/mUYW2b I recently bought a Australian "buggy run" copy and i'm not sure if the instruction is a reproduction - price was fine even without manual, so I'm just asking out of curiosity/collectors interest.

The folding of the manual isn't a huge concern, would you be able to open the cartridge and take a photo of the board? A small flat head or Philips screwdriver should be fine (I use a precision screwdriver but that's because I had it for another job) as the board being real is more of a concern if I am honest

There are some guys based in NZ but who sell on Australian eBay who sell buggy run, power strike 2, masters of combat reproduction manuals. It's a bummer they're out there doing it to be honest. I do see their logic but it means you'll need to be careful.

You'll be pleased to know that you have a genuine game (a repro of this game would have 2 chips instead of 1).

The circuit board is copyright 1987 because they only need to change the chip. That is marked as 1994.
