As it's been mentioned in a couple of threads I thought I'd start a poll and let the members decide whether photographic proof of high scores is needed for the High Score Club.
My personal opinion is Yes, they are needed, sometimes more than one photo too to proove you have reached a certain point if a game can be left to autoplay, My Hero for example.
What do you guys (and gals) think?

I think it's a must, also showing a bit of the SMS if possible so we know a GAR wasn't used. This week I'm going to start updating all of this game stuff for the site. Yaaaaay!

I agree that photographic evidence is a deifinite bolster to your claim, but if your photographing a computer screen running Meka, who's to say this isn't the score from a game of a million and one presses of the F5-F7 keys? Really it all boils down to trust i guess *edit* this is why in my submissions I show my sms with the power light on and cart loaded... on a 13" screen as the SMS can be best enjoyed... I have a 60" plasma, and even using A/V cables... it looked like f***ing hell!!!

I wouldn't mind having my SMS in my pics but the only place I can put it is on top of my TV and it would drive me insane to have cords in the way of the screen. I don't even own a cheat device for SMS though.

Really it all boils down to trust i guess There's only one way to find out if a man is honest - ask him. If he says "yes" you know he's a crook.

I voted no because we are still a small and friendly community, we know each other for a while and moreover, since there is nothing to win, faking a top score would be childish. And I don't think people that collect for a 25 years old system are merely children

I guess really just TV screen is enough. This is, after all, just for fun. If it was a contest for money or something, different story. TV is enough to show I'd say. If you're really that pathetic that you'd cheat to have a high score on an SMS fan site, go ahead.

As I kind of feel I sparked some of this, I just wanted to clear a few things up. I'm not looking to set any strict rules. I'll go along with whatever you guys decide because you've been around here longer. I personally was just looking for answers to my own questions about what is, or isn't allowed. Again, I don't want to submit a score that I used rapid fire on if someone else is going to frown on that. Brian and I are both new to submitting scores, if either of us had just shown up and claimed to have beaten a first place score without a picture would you have been OK with that? While some might not care, I'm sure it's safe to say the guy who had the first place score would care and the thing is if you're going to have rules for the untrusted then the same rules should go for the most trusted.

I voted yes but Kenneth makes a good point. We could just have "confirmed" or "unconfirmed" next to the score. That way it isn't mandatory to provide pictures and people without decent cameras can still feel free to participate.

And I don't think people that collect for a 25 years old system are merely children +1 But maybe we can set to be obligatory only for the top scorer (1st place) and optionally for 2nd, 3rd,... If someone wants to depose top scorer from throne and be the new king of a game, he must prove it with photo/s...

Sounds like great ideas there. If you beat one of the top three scores, you should prove it, otherwise doesn't matter.

I do agree with Kenneth that this is a small and friendly community, and I do trust that people's scores are what they are. But, ToOO's point hit the nail on the head for me. If a newbie to the community came along and posted top spot scores for every single game in the club without posting photos, would you believe them? And it's only fair to have the same rule across the board. But maybe we can set to be obligatory only for the top scorer (1st place) and optionally for 2nd, 3rd,... If someone wants to depose top scorer from throne and be the new king of a game, he must prove it with photo/s... That sounds like a good solution right there, should keep everyone happy. As long as everyone else agree's with that I say that's the way we go .

I don't know why there's this assumption the master system collecting community is small. If that where the case there would not be such high prices on certain games on ebay. I think it's more the case there's not a large number of regular forum visitors.
