Its not that hard, you just need to jump over the leafs before they're coming to you.

I'd go with Miracle Warriors. This one should've stayed in the vintage computer graveyard.

But to answer the question at hand - the game that disappointed me most was probably R-Type. There are so many other great shmups on the system, playing R-Type after the likes of Power Strike, Thunder Blade, Bomber Raid, Astro Warrior and Blade Eagle 3-D left me sort of underwhelmed. I don't care for the music and the slow down is a bother. Still, the game is good, which shows how tough it is to find a game that's really disappointing on this quality over quantity system. Don't you have a JP SMS? I like the FM sound a bit better for R-Type than the regular PSG. I still need to pick up some more SMS shmups. As far as regular SMS shmups, I have R-Type, both Fantasy Zones, and Bomber Raid. The SG-1000 shmups I have are Orguss, Star Jacker, Star Force, Exerion, and Zaxxon. So far, my biggest disappointments for SMS have been Super Monaco GP and Moonwalker. Moonwalker has an unpolished feel to it and too many moves were removed from the Genesis version. Super Monaco GP seems to have poor manual controls. You can't decelerate by letting go of a button and using the gears to slow down is a bit awkward.

Strider, an huge title from the arcade/megadrive and the master system version is crappy. (too slow motion, winking...).

I'd go with Miracle Warriors. This one should've stayed in the vintage computer graveyard. You've got to be kidding me. Miracle Warriors is one of the tightest games on the SMS. The world is huge, tons of people to talk to and quests to go on, awesome graphics, tons of enemies, not only that it came with probably the coolest map included with an 8-bit game. Even my Dad loved Miracle Warriors. He never really played games with us for an extended amount of time but he played Miracle Warriors with me and my brother for weeks. I still remember the day I finally beat the game for the first time. Seeing that a giant green winged woman with huge completely exposed boobs was the final boss was amazing. No other 8-bit RPG has anything close to something as cool as that. Terarin I love you! Too bad I had to kill you.

Alex Kidd The Lost Stars and Alex Kidd In Miracle World. I thought both of these would be really fun but I found them so boring I never completed them. I'm bracing myself for a barrage of attacks but I stand by that statement. Lost Stars I agree with....Miracle World, no I liked that, but then again it comes built so i kind of "had" to play it you might say. I like adventurey games with maps though...but Miracle World might get repetative...breaking blocks again and again, with a different background. For a 1986 console game though, I think the depth of it can't be compared to many other console games of that time....there really is a lot of detail....but I think the small sprites and the block breaking could be a bore to look at all the time.

Alright, no I don't hate Miracle Warriors but certainly not all the things you admire in the game would appreciated by all. Its always that way with RPGs like Miracle Warriors. Is Miracle Warriors the most "computerly" RPG game to be released on a games console? I know many people like adventures that go on for weeks and they like spending time training and arming their characters, building up their stats......but I don't think the graphics of MW would be especially impressive to some people. As for Terarin's boobs....please!!

The game I think that would be my biggest disappointment is the same game I said was my easiest....Moonwalker. I liked the movie, I had high hopes for the game....the game was fine while i was playing it, but once i completed it, which was only a few hours after starting it, i was like "Do I want to bother doing that again?...hell no"....so the game is kinda fun for a while, but it can soon start to put you to sleep....you walk around the stages doing the same things over and over and there are no bosses at the end of each stage.
I'll note that the arcade version of Moonwalker was quite interesting cause at the end of each stage you fight Mr. Big in a different machine.

As a kid the game I was most disappointed with would be Chuck Rock , I had been tempted to get it a few times as I was impressed with the snap shots I had seen and also liked the artwork , was all you had to go on back then . Thankfully I never got it but it instead swapped from a school friend over the summer holidays in exchange for Asterix
It's safe to say I was glad to get Asterix back after the holidays , I found Chuck Rock boring , was a very slow paced game compared to other platformers on the system , the other huge disappointment was the almost complete lack of sound , it was almost like atari 2600 sound effects . I've not been tempted to try the game again , but I might give Chuck Rock II a chance over the weekend to see if any improvements got added .
Most disappointed game as an adult would be Sonic Chaos , closely followed by Asterix the great rescue , really enjoyed the other sonic and asterix games as a kid and both of these failed miserably in comparison for me .

When I read the title of this thread the game that immediately came to mind was... Chuck Rock! I loved the artwork of this game and I even drew it as backing for my art and design folder at school. I managed to save enough money up and actually bought it... Luckily the game shop exchanged it the next day, phew!

I have had a few games that I use to struggle with like Heroes of the Lance but would always return to it and become to like the game more.
