I've just been looking at the high score records for the SMS on twin galaxies and there's loads of games that don't even have records. Maybe the high scorer for each game we run should do a recording and send it in, get some of the sega8bit guys into the record books .

I've updated Stan's post to reflect Astro Warrior. I also think it's good to include the name of the high scorer for bragging purposes. Gives a little more motivation to climb to the top!

Just an idea, but I think we should include a rules list in the first post for each game, this way people will know what they can and can't do. For instance, on the Ninja it's possible to get a max score using the 0% hit ratio cheat so it should be banned. You could also add whether or not photographic evidence is needed and other little bits of info

Yeah, each game has its own set of rules, and I think once we start up a new thread we can discuss that a bit and then whichever moderator can then just apply that to the opening post. Good idea.

Just post a new thread whenever you like . These high score lists are open ended, if someone comes along in 3 years time and posts a Bart Vs The World high score it will be updated . I'm looking forward to seeing what you have in mind, hopefully something a little slower paced than Great Ice Hockey because my arm is killing me ;D.

Is Hang-on going to be chosen anytime soon? As the pack-in game for early systems, just about everyone should have it and it's been a LONG time since I had a decent competitor.

Post a thread, start it up! I was never a huge fan of the game, but estimated prophet has an arcade cabinet I'm sure he's been practicing on, so you may find some hearty competition!

I've not had too much time for playing sms games the past few months but as I'm having a nice Saturday night at home I thought I'd play a little! Anyone have any ideas for a new high score comp??? It's been a while since a new one and some healthy competition always adds some fun

Any chance anyone can post up for Fantasy Zone or Fantasy Zone 2? I'm sure many of us have them if anything I can post up a thread for both games in one.

Fantasy Zone I think is very easy to max out- I remember sending in a high score to Sega Power suggesting that instead of using a high score, they use "number of lives" as the high score metric. Perhaps this list should do the same?

I'll start a thread for Fantasy Zone now, there's actually been a high score comp for it before but it was before the High score club came into existence. The High score contest is no longer running so I suppose all 3 of the competition games should have threads started for them. I'll add the old high scores to the threads with links to the photographic evidence .

Just updated the list, looks like ddevilfingers is king of the shmups, gonna have to see what I can do about that . I'm having a bit of an SMS game marathon ATM, so there may well be lots of new threads started as I finish games ;D.
