Yeah, that's what I was talking about. The part that I wrote is very small. There was no need to write everything all over again since you did it already. I make mention of that in there. No problem man, I understand what you're saying. What I do different comes in the next pages when I explain everything step by step (purpose, etc.) and then give the reader some little tricks to do to manipulate it as they learn more.

Well, I keep getting PMs, so let me post it here. YES, I'm almost done with this next part. Just a few finishing touches to put on it, paragraph marks to separate some sections that are a little long, and a bit more proofreading to make sure it flows well. I'm taking a brief hiatus on writing it as I finish up the Games Database, so once I finally get all the coding done for that and all the pictures I uploaded up on the site, I can get the rest of the next part completed and uploaded for everyone. Sorry for the delay!

Your best bet on IRC is efnet #smspower (!) but it's not dev-only.

Still working on that tutorial bro? Yep, sure am! I just finished reading some stuff for reference this past week. After I get my final grades submitted this Tuesday I'm going to start revising and finishing up the next section. Took a lot longer than I thought, mainly because of how much I kept adding to the damn thing.

Phew! Closing in on the end of this next section! I have roughly a page or two left in writing. I decided to move a bunch of the information to later sections (specifically sprite and background designs), because they're not really relevant at this point in the game. I also think I better add some pictures to spice it up, because this thing is one giant hunk of information as it stands. I cut it down some too to keep the primary things there that I think are necessary to understanding how this little "program" is working. Getting there! Once this big section is done the going will be a lot quicker. I already have some cool stuff I'm preparing for the sprite and background sections, stuff you can work with, but I really need to make sure this part is clear before I move on, anxious though I am.

Nearly done. As I told XOR via PM, I took on a special job this summer that I normally wouldn't be working, giving me in total three damn jobs until August. Couldn't pass up the opportunity, so I took it. This gives me little time at the moment to hit it, but I've been picking at it whenever I can. The next part is very, very near completion, just need to trim some things down and such.

Ha, there's a LOT of work involved in it. Did you read the first few parts I finished? Because once the new one is finally done you won't have a clue what it's about if you haven't been going through the rest of it. Real sorry to those of you waiting, this damn job is killing me, takes up pretty much all of my time above and beyond what I usually do. It was worth it, but man, be done already!

What is it that's confusing you erik1781? Starting with master system programming without a good grasp of z80 is an overwhelming task Your trying to do to many things at once Learn z80 Learn Hex Learn Hardware Learn Game Design Your setting yourself up for failure Forget the master system for now and concentrate on hex and z80 Every tutorial i've seen online assumes you already have a good grasp at some programming backround nothing is geared towards complete novices You need to learn the fundementals of programming If your really serious about learning z80 asm Here's some advice Get yourself a z80 programming book(DO NOT GET rodney and zaks book thats to advanced for you at this stage and will confuse and fustrate you even further until you decide rubber duck this it's to hard and give up I personally think putting bugs in code examples and let people figure out how to correct them is a fantastic teaching tool Even if there very simple logic errors would help them understand
Like Stan says keep going through his tutorials i just had a look at them again after a few months and recalled why i began learning z80 All of it might not make sense too you right now but keep going through it and it will start Really study the binary pages try to memorize the value each bit in a byte represents

Major idea how about showing them how game structure works
Maybe i can work on this with Stan How to get a sprite on screen How to move a sprite(basic 1 pixel movement) How to create animation for Sprites How to get tiles on screen
I'd love to go right into a game depending on the tutorials response
And show these in pictorials What ya think Stan doable?

I think it would be great, wouldn't mind some help! If you read over in the site part of the forum, you'll see why I've been behind over like the past month. This is the third thing to complete on my list.

Why is your simple demo taking you so long to explain?

If you read my post in the Site Discussion section, you would know that I've been focusing on finishing the Games Database first, and then I'll be moving onto this again.
