I've just put into place most of the work for a site hardware database similar to the games database. It will include all official hardware as well as third party controllers and peripherals.
I'm hoping to include pictures of each item including the box and text extracts from the box.
If anyone fancies helping out by sending in pictures (many detailed pictures of all sides of the boxes and pictures of the peripheral from many angles) It would really be appreciated. You can send me images to andy@sega8bit.com or you can post them here and i'll find them. I'm also available on msn messanger under the same email address.
I'm going to trawl through this forum and retrieve any information i can use. But this is going to be a big job!

I'll do my SMS3+105 for you if you like. Will have a look and see if there's anything else non-standard that might be useful to you by way of hardware....

I'd offer to help, but I don't have anything that someone like Rupert doesn't have in better condition and in multiple varieties

DUDE I'VE BEEN WAITING ALL MY LIFE FOR THIS. I have TONS of third-party, totally unknown joysticks and such, ALL COMPLETE, so I can supply plenty of pictures, including loose shots and such. Whenever I thought about this before, I always thought it would be cool to show the item in the box, and then separate components in the other pictures, using the three picture scheme you used in the games database. I'm ready man, just give me the go and I can hit it.

Anyone who wants to, help is greatly appreciated. I'm going to do a mock-up entry just so people can see what It should be like and get a better idea. Stan, as always you have access to the staff interface, take a look and tell me what you think.

Andy, I sent you an email through my wife's account. Let me know what you need so I can get on it, rup has a few sticks I don't, but I have at least, jeez, maybe 50 or more third-party weird things I can give info on. If you have the database up, I can just add it that way. No reason to look through the forum, we've got it all already, I think...

No worries stan, there is still a bit of tweaking and bug finding to be done. But the basics are there.

Looks easy enough, I'll let you know if I need the instructions again for the file usage. Rupert is the man for console variations, and I'll tackle all the third-party stuff, except for those two that that a child conceived out of wedlock stole from me...
EDIT: Just checked, I have all the data I need so I can start on this tomorrow or maybe even tonight.

The more pictures the better I say. I like the fact you've got full size pictures when you click on them too. Just having pictures on the page wouldn't have been as good, given the limited width of the sites pages.
I think instead of having "console", "controller" and "peripheral" listed on each page, with only a true next to one of them, you could just something like "Hardware Type: Controller". Would make it less cluttered.
And I'd argue that the controller should be classed as "official", given that its licensed by Sega, and has the actual sega logo on it. Sure it wasn't manufactured by Sega themselves, but then neither was the SG Commander Pad.
