Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out here 1.) Each variant of the system released Stateside and 2.) What chronology they were released in.
I've seen my fair share of SMS's over the years and as far as I can tell the US ones have the blue pixels all over the right side, while the Canadian/European ones have the system text underlined in red and without the pixels. I'm sure there are exceptions to both, so if you can fill me in that would be great.
As far as I understand, there's been these US SMS releases:
The Sega Base System The Sega Master System The Sega SuperScope System The Sega Master System II
Then there were also the controller variants, with one box picturing them coming from the side of the controller, and the majority of the others coming from the top. Since I've never seen a Base system like that, I'm assuming that the very first system was the bigger Master System version with the light phaser. True?
As for pack in games, were they always there? I have the Snail Maze only version of the console, as well as the Safari Hunt/Hang-On and Alex Kidd versions, but did the Snail Maze version just come with the combo cartridge pack separately?
Oh, and did any come with the AV cables, or were they always just RF?
So many questions!

Canada had it's own Master System release on top of the US ones. A bilingual box with Irwin Electronics logo on the box. Only saw one once on eBay not long ago.

There were two SuperScope ones I believe. One with lame-o packaging, and the other with a bigger, bolder design.

I don't think I have any boxed US systems actually. I don't know a great deal about them. I'd like to get a Base System and Superscope at some point as neither of those were released in Europe under those fancy names

I'd like to see a list (with plenty of piccies ) of all the different console box variations, even the ones that just have a sticker on telling you there's an extra game inside. I don't have many box variations for the SMS yet, but i've got quite a few for the MD, including one with stickers of a single pad covering the 2 joypads when they were running short one Xmas

Nice . What's the difference between the two Sonic SMSII's at the bottom? I think one isnt UK plus one is poly inserts and one is cardboard if I remember right. I'd have to have a look to be sure though, there defo not the same anyway.

Too bad they don't make more of those stands, it would be awesome to have all the games on display that way.

That would be pretty awesome, but considering how many variants he has it would take quite a number!
