Wonders if they will ever bring out another Alex Kid game ever? That's always the hope, but at least we can finally see him in polygonal glory as a selectable character in SEGA Superstar Tennis!

Alex Kidd in Miracle World will always be that one special game i love till the end of time. It was the first video game i ever played on the first video game system i ever had and it ignited my love for video games.
Can you really believe this game came out in 1986? It was more or less are revolution most people ignored. All the features like buying stuff, using vehicles, the level design and just the fact that it was mor than just "run from right to left", the unique idea with janken to beat some of the bosses...What other game at that time had those features? It's a shame, that Super Mario Bros. is held in such high regards, while good old Alex Kidd is ignored and even Sega made fun of him (in Segagaga on the Dreamcast at least, where he works in a store selling Sega games and complains about that nobody likes him)

You play him quite early on, but yeah, you have to complete the Space Harrier world or something like that for him to be selectable. If you didn't like Tennis, then there's a chance to play the Kidd again in All-Star Racing coming out early next year. It's got the Kidd and Ryo from Shenmue as racers. Rock on!

It's got a steep learning curve, but once you get a hang of the control it's a blast to play. The graphics are the best on the Saturn and the music, while certainly cheesy, is all totally catchy and memorable.

Sonic R is fantastic fun but it's so achingly brief.

Sonic R is fantastic fun but it's so achingly brief. Like the other Sonic games, though, if you tough it out to get all the emeralds it's actually a massive challenge. I basically got carpal tunnel syndrome trying to get the last emerald on Reactive Factory. Worth it all, though, for Super Sonic. Sorry for the derail...ugh, Alex Kidd in Miracle World has wonky physics!

I don't see it; the emeralds didn't seem that well hidden. Maybe I just got lucky?
I beat the whole thing with all the characters in about a half hour. I still go back to it to refine lap times et al, though. It's a lovely game.

Love this one. Very early memory as a 5/6 year old when the game was brand new, nose pressed up against the shop window where they had it on demo, and thinking it was the best thing I'd ever seen. Bearing in mind, that at home I was playing on a Sinclair ZX Spectrum Still looks and plays good today, I have had a few goes on emulators in recent years but am waiting to play the real thing. Never was any good at it either so hopefully my skills have improved in the last 20 years.

Never was any good at it either so hopefully my skills have improved in the last 20 years. That's what I hoped, too. Sadly, it was not to be; I'm much worse at it today than I was as a child. :P Stil -- as I've said earlier in this thread -- it's a classic game and my favourite on the system.
