Iam quite dissappointed, I had such high hopes on this game after LoI. I dont like the robocod door style between the levels, it doesnt feel like a complete story, but just some seperate levels. What also sucks is that there aint no powerups, like wall climbing and getting small. Its a decent game, but not superb. Well, Land of Illusion is the Sequel, released 2 years later. Of course they throw in a bunch of new features. And the doorstyle makes sense. You're in a CASTLE running from Room to Room trying to find Minnie. How else should they do it? They could've gone with the old "One level after another in a straight line"-way, but wouldn't that boring? I like the chance to choose how i play the levels. Ah, thought castle was the sequal, then it makes sense.

Legend of Illusion is OK. I normally don't care about Tec Toy releases but since I loved Land and Castle of Illusion I decided to seek it out. It came with Virtua Fighter Animation so they're the only Tec Toy releases I have. As I said it's OK but not as good as the original two. The attacks are different and the style of gameplay is different however the graphics are the same. I completed it but didn't enjoy it that much. It's really a Game Gear game (like a lot of the Tec Toy exclusives) and seeking the Game Gear version has proved most frustrating!
As for Castle of Illusion, I enjoyed it. I too played this one after I played Land of Illusion and so it was a step back but it's almost as good as the sequel. I thought it was much better than the Mega Drive version which I think is quite tedious.

I like Castle of Illusion but don't love it as much as most. The music kinda makes me sleepy..lol. Gameplay is definately pretty solid though and looks wonderful. It' kinda on the easy side and once finished I have no real urge to play again. I did'nt have this game as a kid but i'm sure if I did I would love it as much as everyone else.

I remember my best friend bought this game even though we both had Sega Genesis games. My bro and I had the Genesis version of this game, and months later he got the sms version... In my head I was like ''huh?'' , and he tells me ''ya gotta try it, it's a different version made for the master system, the control is better and there is cool stuff with blocks that the Genesis version doesn't have. Anyhow, it's an awesome game. Better than the 16-bit version in terms of fun, control, gameplay... and a sweet platformer. A bit on the easy side but a nice change of pace since I found and still find a lot of the sms games really hard.

Well, almost ten years later I got around to finishing this game during the last week! Still love it.

I was quite disappointed when they announced an HD Remake and it was only the Genesis version. I still think the MS Version is superior and could be better with some remastered sounds and graphics in the style of modern "8-Bit Retro games" like Bleed or something I actually never really finshed the MD version because the levels are so...uninteresting, while i finished the MS version about 20 times by now
