I've just been on Ebay and after searching through most SEGA items in most countries i failed to find one thing of interest. I clicked on my Ebay to check on my watched items and was shocked to find that i wasn't actually watching anything , thats got to be the first time since i joined. Anyway i was wondering whether people just aren't selling decent stuff anymore or is it just that i don't want as many things nowadays. What do you think?

i blame people winning items then listing them on ebay shops for silly money hoping that we"the collector who actually wants the item" pays thier high prices

Hey! what have i bought of interest latley?? Anyway, i kinda know what you mean Ninja, there are down periods, I found that just after Xmas this year there was crap loads of SMS stuff on ebay! everyone clearing out after new stuff at xmas I guess. So hopfully in a few months there will be alot of things about. There are so few items that I need/ interest me recently though. Plus Ive learnt not to pay as much these days. But still seem to always have about 30+ items on watch and bidding on about 4 currently. I tend not to buy to sell anymore. Unless its somthing I happen to cathc ultra cheap. Even then I'd still eother list it at 99p or sell it on here to buy somthing I need. i think you must have money burning a whole in your pocket with nothing to spend it on ;D

I think it's because you don't want as many things. I am in the same boat. I am closing in on the collection I want, so most of the stuff listed isn't of interest to me because I have most of it or they are games I am not collecting. Once I have them all I will start upgrading the ones that aren't in great condition, so it should open things up a bit for me sonce a few of them are common.

i think you must have money burning a whole in your pocket with nothing to spend it on ;D I can always find something to spend my money on, it just doesn't seem to be going Ebays way a lot just lately. I think i've only bought about 7 items this month and i haven't been watching many more. Its not just SEGA stuff either, i collect for most systems but i just can't find many interesting items.

That I got for 31€ shipped. As for Ebay drying up. I would claim the opposite. There are tons of stuff there. More so than ever. Then again, thats only trues if you are a general Sega collector. More and more japanese based sellers are churning out goodies every day, and they are going for less and less $$$. If we speak strictly sms related things, I still beg to differ. It might be so that I missed out on the post X-mas feast. But since joining this site I had some 30 games missing. Now im down to 5. And I havent been here a long time at all and dident overpay much for any item..if any. Quite a few bargains actually, and games I never even seen on tradera (my main goodie store) pop up frequently. I think Ive seen 5 Masters of Combat in a few months compared to zero in 2 years before starting to hunt SMS through Ebay as it got too tough to find new stuff on tradera. You are just beeing picky

Logically the older it gets the less likly it is people will dig one out of somewhere to sell, but I have no idea if that explains it. I'm having trouble finding a Renegade at a decent price or at all atm, but I think the post x-mas clearout will sort things out, and in theory so will people going to uni parents do seem to sell their kids stuff, but then again the kids are now to young to have had a SMS in the most part!

I have yet to actually collect for the SMS - I only own six games, and didn't own a console until I traded with eday. And I only traded because my Power Base Converter - or my Genesis 1 console is a piece of crap. But it'll be a long time before I can really collect. Since most know I enlisted in the Air Force... and if I'm stationed in Europe, then I'll change my mind.

I'd say it's all a matter of where you are in your collecting. For example, I have only 30 SMS games so it's damn easy to find new carts on Ebay but I have pretty much every Australian release for the NES and haven't seen anything I really need in months.

You guys think ebay is bad for SMS stuff... check out US SNES and Saturn games! It's a good thing I got out of the SNES scene, and the Saturn scene, I had lotsa good luck and started as the stuff was going up in price.

Saturn is one of the systems I will be actively collecting for in the near future. High prices are bad!
