Just got back from seeing this movie, all I can say is how blown away I am. It really was an amazing movie. Did anyone else go see it already or today? If not then I suggest you drop everything and go see it.... NOW....

I've not actually seen any of the Star Wars films. Might have seen return of the Jedi though, not sure about that. I've never seen the Goonies either for that matter, and this always apalls my friends. Just don't believe there's films you 'have' to have seen. A mate of mine gave me a call saying he was booking tickets (for star wars 3) and when was I free. He seemed genuinely stunned when I said I had no interest in going even though he knows I'm not a fan.
Not really a big action film fan, give me Rumble Fish over that any day. Fright Night was ace to though and so was Vita e Bella and Amelie for that matter. Anyways, I'll refrain from listing all the films I've seen and quite like.

I queued for a couple of hours to see Star Wars. 7 years old I was with my long departed Nan. the queues went round the block from an old Cinema in Evesham called the Clifton.
Absolutely f******* life changing (I put my own stars in!).
Defined my life it did, aargh memories of '77.
So I guess you could say I am a Star wars fan a bit

Rumble fish? Mickey Rourke in black and white. Fish in colour?
I know my movies.
How about a fav films thread?
If no one minds I will start with my top ten in no order
El Topo: mental spaghetti western/religious epic Harrison Bergeron: Sean Astin in a future mind control by govt flick Ichi the killer: just sick man bites dog: belgian serial killer Battle Royale: one of the absolute best films of all time Ring: not the american one please Star Wars: starting point LOTR: read tolkein from a child Taxi: again not the american one Last Broadcast: predates Blair witch and better
Not meant to be esoteric but I do like films a lot!

I went to the midnight screening of Episode III in Inverness, wasn't disappointed. Best popcorn movie I've ever seen and it felt like Star Wars, unlike I and II.
The music was kinda bland, the new stuff anyway, while the rest was remixes of the best of the previous movies. Visually it was ****ing amazing.
My one major gripe about the film, without spoiling anything, is the "Nooooo!!!". It was so cliched I couldn't help but laugh.
But all in all, it was great and really entertaining. I can't wait to see it again.

You people are sick and I can't believe you're saying this. Star Wars III is possibly THE WORST movie ever made, I couldn't believe it. Terrible dialog, stupid special effects everywhere, just overall incredibly awful. I don't think there is a single scene in the movie that was not done in front of a blue screen. Acting was rank, and wow, just wow, I can't go on. Then you have the classic scene at the end where Vader comes off of the operating table (wearing his cape?) like freaking Frakenstein and a melodramatic (and thus hilarious) NOOOOOOOOO rings out. This is the most terrible thing ever committed to film and anyone that finds anything good with it should be committed. My friend, who I saw it with, is a huge Star Wars fan, and even he agreed. In fact, the entire theatre was silent, three people were sleeping, and countless shouts of horror were heard throughout during the duration. I should have known, going in there on the SECOND day it was showing, that with only 15 people in the blasted theatre, something was amiss. This movie is proof of just how stupid humanity has become and why it all needs to end and robots need to take over or something. God, worst thing ever, I need to stop now because I'm getting married today. Christ this is the worst thing ever made.

Loved it. Was the perfect way to connect a series of films that changed the world.

Well, I thought it was pretty good. Shat rings of fire on the incendescent excrement that was Episode 1, and was a vast improvement on Episode 2. It seemed to tie most loose ends. I too, Stan, am still offenced and the sheer number of green screen shots... so unnecessary... But as a film, I thought it was pretty cool.
Saw Hitchhikers's Guide (etc) and The Longest Yard (I have seen the original and the pissy soccer remake) last weekend and Thought both were great. As far as all time favourites, I say pick a genre... It's too hard to nail it to one. As far as kids movies go... The Dark Crystal I think my Mum hired out for 3 months solid when it first went to weekly video... That film freakin rocks! The details, the scale, the non-green screen...
Actually I just watched Team America and was reminded of how great puppets are.... Oh, and laughing my bits off to "There are 3 types of people in this world..."

No doubt when I watch Star Wars 3 I'll get a buzz from it, I mean most films shown at the theatre, heavily promoted ones, like the Lord of the Rings films, are impossible not it be excited by I suppose. But this time, I'd like to try and forget about how "mindblowing, stunning" and whatever else it is supposed to be and just see if I really like it.
