Hey thanks everyone! I hail from portsmouth and have been slowly collecting M.S. games and hardware for the last year ;D The weird thing is I completely missed out on the 8bit consoles first time round. I went from my trusty 4bit spectrum +2 to the 16bit age with the megadrive so when last year I had a bit of money and a ebay account I went for a Master system mk 1 fully boxed with inlays documentation and sonic the hedgehog for £30.00 Since then this little beauty has turned out to be my fav system by far and thats out of the 8 i own.. I cant explain lol you all probably know what i'm talking about!

Geek moment:
Actually the Spectrum is a 8-bit machine, it uses the same type of CPU as the Master System the Zilog Z80 That CPU is used in a lot of other machines too, MSX, Gameboy and Gameboy Color, as a sound chip in the Neo Geo and Megadrive
Lots of MSX games were hacked over to master system in Korea, but to my knowledge no Spectrum games have been ported. Master System is more similar in design to msx than spectrum. But id love to see the spectrum game Death Chase ported over, its awesome. The wireframe 3D game Star Wars arcade would be great to have on sms too

wow thats impressive i was always puzzled why retro gamer would place the speccy in the 8bit section, lol guess I should have paid attention. Well then really i had a beast of a machine with it lol You wouldn't think it playing "big trouble in little china" shudders

Welcome! Glad to see new members signing up ;D
How many games do you own? I’m sure if you wanted to buy games in bulk or were looking for certain titles then a few members on here could help you out
As for spectrum games being ported - Attic Attack was the greatest!

Street Fighter 2 isnt all that hard to get, quite a few of us on here have it, it will likely cost you £20 to £30 though. I happen to have spare Xmen and Virtua Fighter if your interested in those too And Alien Hunt?, got the title wrong, or do you have some game we dont know about - its always worth asking just incase

SF2 pops up on ebay every now and then, or there's always the magic of Mercado Livre (the brazilian ebay) - just use a translator like the alta vista / babel fish toolbar and it's dead easy, you'll find there's usually 2 or 3 copies a month appear there, along with most other tec toy games.
It's not bad, I'd definately get it if you can. You should read my review of it on the main site too! ;D

As far as I know, there's never been a 4-bit system - even the Channel F (first ever programmable console from 1976) was 8-bit.

The only major 4bit processor that i know of is the original CPU made by Intel the 4004, which was only used in calculators and things. 8bit processors came along almost immediatly afterwards, so 4bit processors never got the chance to be used in anything.
They also had 16bit/32bit processors in the seventies, it just took a while for them to become economical to use in computers and consoles
