Over the past few years I’ve got properly in to watching speed running mainly Nintendo titles but recently came across some master system runs. Recent discovery is that a game ending glitch in Zool which was recently achieved in 9.88 seconds! Anyone else ever tried their hand at speed running. I know the Master system doesn’t get much love on YouTube so finding new game breaking glitches for the system is incredible. Could maybe start up a speed running thread for individual games if it’s a popular subject here. Anyway here’s the current WR for Zool. m.youtube.com/watch?v=aapIw_AsLhcThe glitch was accidentally found by someone who had been trying to complete every master system game. Not sure the ins and outs but running to the exact point on that ledge to the left and turning back on yourself triggers the end cut scene.

I literally just saw that video moments before I read your post. Freaky coincidence!
I have quite a bit of interest in the speed-running scene but I've never attempted many myself. The only two SMS games I've ever tried speed-running are New Zealand Story and Back to the Future 3, both of which can be watched on the Sega8bit YouTube channel. I'm not sure I have the time/patience to grind out speed run attempts.
It's a shame the SMS doesn't get much love when it comes to speed running. As you can imagine, the most popular games that people attempt are Sonic, Alex Kidd and Castle of Illusion.
I probably have more interest in high score records than speed records, hence the high score club on the forum. It could be a good idea to get some speed run challenges though. How about something fairly easy and not so popular? Something like E-Swat or Double Dragon?
