@op: I hate to say this, but I think you would have had an easier time by raiding uk forums / facebook groups beforehand and strike some deals with local collectors ( or have ebay stuff delivered to your hotel room ) then trying to wring something out of the hopelessly overfished second-hand market that even locals have trouble getting anything new out of.
