Hello everyone,
Just want to introduce myself to this forum. My name is Jonathan, and I have been a Sega fan since 1987, when I got my first Master System in Hong Kong. Our first few games were Bank Panic, Hang On, World Grand Prix, and Action Fighter. Later, when my family moved to the United States, we sold the PAL SMS and bought an NTSC one with Hang On built in. Up until the late 90s, I slowly built up my SMS collection.
20 years later, I'm finally at a crossroads in life and ready to part with my beloved games. I have been a member of SMS Power! for a few years and decided to post a sale thread there. I had intended to sell all my collection at once to a local buyer, but no one expressed any interest. At the suggestion of a member there who is also active here on Sega8bit, I've decided to post here also.
When I first posted the sale thread, I did not want to ship games because I was afraid of the hassle, but in the past month I've finally decided to sell some other things on eBay and found that it isn't so bad. As a result, I've prepared a few listings on eBay, and will post them here when they go live.
In the meantime, I look forward to some lively discussion on the SMS that we all share a common love for. Long live Sega!
Regards, Jonathan

I've seen at least two different versions of the Professor. The old man I've seen the most, followed by this rabbit from the Astro Warrior/Pit Pot (UK version?) manual that I recently scanned. There might have been another Professor Playor as well, will have to go back and check the scans. Check out the index in my signature below for the manuals I've scanned so far. It's all part of my de-cluttering process, including selling my games. Anyhow, thanks for the warm welcome, glad to be here!

Hey buddy, glad to see you made your way over here. Enjoy the forum, we're a small but great community to be a part of. Edit: I've only ever seen professor player as a rabbit... !!!... Edit 2: whoa, I just took a look at some of the scans/links on your sight... I hope Bock has (or is the one who recently purchased) those awesome Hong Kong flyers you have up there. Great stuff thanks for providing us with some more Sega history!

Thanks man, happy to be here and thanks for the suggestion to sign up here in the first place. Here is the Professor in his human incarnation: I'll have to dig around to see if he has yet another form. I think I saw one but I've been scanning so much everything's a blur. Glad to be able to share the HK flyers. When I was a kid there wasn't always another SMS enthusiast nearby so I could only be excited about them on my own. Who knew that there are so many other Sega-lovers like me out there? And yes, I did sell them to Bock, haha. I suppose he's known to collect random SMS stuff.

AKA Professor Asobin and Dr Games rupert, your Instagram feed is amazing, seeing it feels like pulling up next to a Ferrari in my Camry. Also, nice to see another "Scotch and Sega" enthusiast, I take it you're into the Islay malts?

From what I've learned selling all my games this past month, it would seem that most games sold in the Hong Kong market (except maybe MJ?) were EU or UK imports, so I'm guessing that that's what was in the catalog. Coincidentally, Bank Panic was my first SMS game, a result of a mix-up at the store where we bought the SMS, and yes, it was a card. I only spent a short time with it, since we exchanged it back for Hang On soon after.

Yes Islay are my favourite whiskies but I love all regions
