Hi guys,
I just want to inform you about this little issue when you try to attach some pictures in your post:
´Error: This forum has exceeded its attachment space limit. Your file cannot be uploaded. ´
What can we do against that? Maybe a cleanup at the Wants & Trades section? Sometimes it´s not cool when this message arrives. Cheers!

Thanks for ignoring my post. I think this forum needs a new, fresh set of moderators.
Sinistral wasn´t online since november 15th. Stan is rarely online, Ian doesn´t seem to be interested, Grolt was online last december, Ninjabearhug is missing since last june and Estimated Prophet was last online in 2014! Of course it´s a pity, but I think the mod crew needs to be partially replaced. Not all of them of course, but some. Saying this, I offer my help as a moderator now. Maybe some others do as well =)

I think the forum is still under the auspices of shinobiman and thus stuck to the basic ProBoards offering (200MB); unless you can get him to pay $3 per month for the minimal upgrade to 500MB. The rest of sega8bit/smstributes consists of only ian, the other guys are (as you noticed) a bit absent. Forum moderation is not particularly relevant to this issue. Or, just use image hosts.

I did actually have a bit of clear out so there should be enough space to last for a little while.
Using image hosts are always appreciated. Alternatively, if people are savvy enough, it would be good if attached images are optimised for the web i.e. reduced image dimensions = lower filesize

I thought Sinistral is the owner of the board, sorry my mistake. But some new moderators are still a good idea, but since Ian owns everything else, I guess he´s doesn´t agree with this idea in fear of too many things could change on here. I don´t like file hosts anymore, because who knows what they´re doing with your pictures, so I appreciate your efforts.

number of/lack of active moderators and the storage problem can be either part of the same issue or unrelated, all depends on the forum team structure.
Some forums have moderators just as a spam team, others have involvement in tech support and others are effectively admins in all but name. I was the first and last of that description where I did nearly 10 years, when the head admin gave up I was handed everything the same way she was.

As far as forums go this is def one of the best, I never have issues logging on, spam is very rare and soon removed and pop ups are few and far between.
As for pictures, well thats what image hosting sites are for! Its not like you are posting family pictures, they are only pictures of an old console/games with a very limited audience.

Well, image hosts don't guarantee to keep the image there so old discussions end up a bit ruined. At SMS Power we prefer to host everything, so we have over 3GB of attachments now - most of it not very interesting, but our goal is preservation.

Hey, I stop in at least once a week, come on now. It was a bit different not so long ago But it´s great to see you back on here dude Let me say that an active team of moderators is important for the forum´s whole representation. Somebody who is going to register on here is seeing the inactive staff and thinks ´wow, not even the staff is online, the board seems to be very dead´. The result: He/she doesn´t register. But as you can see, Ian doesn´t say anything. I absolutely don´t understand why he refuses that so much.

Generally the SMS isn't that popular (compared to other systems) and this place is almost exclusive for SMS topics, so normally there's not much action. I think if somebody cares about SMS and wants to discuss about it, he'll do it.
From my little experience, Ian has proved many times that really cares for this place.
Please let's avoid creating rivalry for no reason and let's talk about SMS.

Alright alright, I see it makes no sense anyway to try to make this a more active place again I guess I gained some new hate anyway now *lol*
