As I get back in to the SMS for the third time, I will admit something has changed in me greatly.
Not long ago I tried to play my NES...and I just could NOT get in to it. Aside from the blinking blue screen, I honestly don't have a passion for it. The games I loved so much, I have little desire to play. Just thinking of them makes me, well...I just don't feel the same as I did anymore.
When I picked up the SMS, I popped in AKIMW. The spark hit me, and I will be honest, I had fun with the game. The game never grew on me before, but now it has. I try to play it when I can.
I have been looking at the games more...I have been looking at imports, and even purchased a few. I have more desire to play my SMS and the feelings I had with the NES have grown on me via the SMS.
I enjoyed the system the last time I had it, but it has grown on me even more so this time. I feel I am not doing a good enough job on saying what is going on inside, but I am having too much fun.
I have got further in AKIMW than ever before and had a blast doing it. I honestly haven't even played any of my other games. Granted I don't have as much time to play, but it has been all Miracle World since I rebought it.
I am hoping I can get my daughter in to it, but she doesn't seem too interested in older games. I dunno..it's as if this should have been the system I gave my childhood to instead of the NES. Unless something drastic ever comes up in my life, the SMS is here to stay in my life for good this time.

Nice one! Whenever I turn on the SMS it takes me back to my childhood, it really was an amazing time for gaming.

If only I gave it more a chance in my youth. Oh well. Land of Illusion came today...AKIMW had to go for the moment.
I have considered snagging a Mark III system as well...but with so many games coming who knows. The SMS just keeps blowing me away.

I am hoping I can get my daughter in to it, but she doesn't seem too interested in older games. I think you need to find the right Master System game for your daughter first. Most Master System games' difficulty are brutal so that kid nowadays won't like it after first try. At first my 4 year old son didn't interested in Master System too. He loves Sonic but Master System's Sonic 1 & 2 is just too difficult to play for him. That's why he prefers Genesis (Sonic 1-3, S&K, & 3D Blast; he loves them all) or NDS (Sonic Rush 1-2 & Colors). That's until I introduce him Master System's Sonic Chaos. Sonic Chaos is the most easiest Sonic game ever on any system, so he fell in love with it right away. Only after that he's willing to try another Master System games and found his new favorites.

Back in the day I didn't manage to get my hands on one until Christmas 1993 (I used to go to my mates house every night to play his from about 1991) I had an Amstrad cpc464 from 1984 to 1993 and played it to death but even though I only had the SMS for about a year (I upgraded to a Megadrive with my first pay cheque) I always looked back to the SMS with fondest memories (I think it was the loading times over the Amstrad that blew my mind, lol and the fact that Sega did great arcade ports (Bubble Bobble, Double Dragon etc..)

I will try to pick up a copy of Sonic Chaos! Looks like something she might enjoy. She loved Sonic 2 on Genesis/Mega Drive. She wasn't great, but did far better than Mario games and had fun.
I have a huge list of games for my wife to choose from since my bday is coming up soon. With the games I have already coming plus any she buys, I really hope my daughter will take more interest. I am just excited that the SMS is back in my life. Having too much fun with it when I get to play.

I don't have a cheat device for SMS. If I did I would pop it in for her.
She watched me play Asterix last night, as I got it in the mail yesterday. Aside from being blown away that each character has their own unique stages (love it!), my daughter watched and became interested. She wanted to play...but it was bedtime (I got to wake up early weekends for work).
Needless to say I plan on having Asterix ready to play with her very soon!
I am just excited...and after work tonight...I am getting some SMS play in. Just got 12 hours or more to go til I am off work.

Here's another thought Find the cutest games (psycho fox, sonic, fantasy zone, disney's illusion games, etc), and use an Action Replay to cheat to make them have a less brutal difficulty? Invunreability cheats etc. Get out of here, heathen.

Thanks! I had a blast the other day, had some 'me' time. Played through Taz-Mania and finished Mortal Kombat as well. I just barely got through MK but was excited to.
I think I will let my daughter try Sonic the Hedgehog. She struggled with Asterix and I doubt Land of Illusion would go well...but she usually does well with Sonic games for some reason.
When she was about 4 or 5 she couldn't play a Mario game, but put on a Sonic and she could get through levels easily.
