Hey guys, I'm new to the forum but I've been collecting Master System games on and off for years. I've just noticed recently that some of my games have white labels on the cartridges while the others are either brown or red.
I know the laminated red ones were made in Japan or around that area, I know the brown ones were made in the US and Australia but I'm not sure about the white ones?
Thanks!

White ones (and even a black one for Robocop Vs. Terminator) are not really region specific per se, rather I guess an aesthetic choice by third party developers to stand out or make them better looking.
But technically you could claim they are region specific to Europe/PAL as those versions were only released here. Seems like the Brazilian versions of the white labeled games (not sure if all) had blue labels instead.

Thanks for the insight. I wasn't sure if it was game specific or manufacturer/publisher specific because I've got two copies of Populous and Sonic 2 one cartridge of each is either blue/white and the other are either red or brown.

Parker Bros. games have a white label, too. Ah! So they are not even technically region specific then

I've seen white labeled games with blue and red printing. Super Off Road is the only one I can think of right now, what do we attribute these differences to? Different release dates, country of manufacturing?? Anyone?

Yeah, the Simpsons games I have are white with red ink but I think that's because of Flying Edge trying to make them stand out with how horrible they are.
