I tried some SMS emulation and decided to try out games that never came to the U.S. and I've got to say I'm VERY impressed! Man this system is just more amazing and playing a few PAL roms I can def see the true power of the SMS.
Due to a baby on the way (and other personal reasons), I won't really be able to purchase any PAL games right now, so I guess I got to stick with the emulation. Def not the same, but I guess it'll work for now. Hopefully things will change for me down the road cause I am strongly considering purchasing some PAL games.
I only wish the U.S. had shown more love to the SMS cause we truly missed out on a TON of great games. I will admit, I am jealous of you PAL and Brazil users!

I can't think of their names off the top of my head. One was a Donald Duck game...can't remember the name...Deep Duck or Lucky Dime? Maybe both? Played one and it was just awesome.
I will have to check out the names of the games as I honestly can't think of the names right off. Sorry its been a busy week and I'm tired as well...so my memory is crap today...but the Donald Duck game really stood out...there's a part where you get chased by a gorilla I think and have to kick treasure chests and get ice cream...that game is such a blast. Prob stands out more as I've had so much fun I've played it more than the others I've tested out. I will look at the names when I get a chance.

I've heard about the Everdrive a number of times but never looked in to it. Right now I have a PSP GO with emulators on it which let's me snag some SMS goodness while I'm out and about.
And thanks for the heads up on the price. I will check in to it when I get things more situated.
I know a lot of people may shrug it off, but it was just amazing. I tried Basketball Nightmare and while gameplay was nothing special, I seriously enjoyed the slam dunks scenes. I don't know I just think graphically it was pleasing to look at but I haven't played a lot of NES sports games.

I greatly appreciate the offer but I will pass for the time being. I think once a bill or two gets knocked out then I will either look or ask for help on here in the purchase. Again, I really do appreciate it.
While we are at it, could you recommend any PAL only games for me to try and see if I would like them...or any that really show off the SMS power?

I only wish the U.S. had shown more love to the SMS cause we truly missed out on a TON of great games. I will admit, I am jealous of you PAL and Brazil users! No doubt, no love here in the U.S. If not for spending some time in Singapore between 1990-93, I would never have been exposed to some great Pal titles.

It is Deep Duck Trouble that I really like. Bubble Bobble looks AND sounds superior to NES port. Tried some Dynamite Dux, and while not much testing, it looks like it would be a fun game. Looks like there are some inside jokes in the game perhaps?
I will have to look at the other games I've tried. But again, very sorry the US didn't get the games like everyone else did.

Giving some thought to this thread... While I always thought the same way, looking at the games list on the main site, it wasn't until late in the run that the U.S. got shafted. One could certainly argue that the SMS was already dead in the U.S. market by 1990. Here is a list of games not released in the U.S. by year...
1987 Bank Panic
1988 OutRun 3D
1989 Basketball Nightmare Battle Outrun Dynamite Dux Populous Scramble Spirits Tennis Ace World Games
1990 Assault City Back to the Future 2 Cyber Shinobi Danan the Jungle Fighter Double Hawk Fire and Forget 2 Gain Ground Gauntlet Golfmania Impossible Mission Indiana Jones Speedball Sub Attack Taito Chase HQ Ultima IV World Cup 90 Italia
All we got in 91 was Sonic, Spiderman and Strider so yeah we got shafted from 91 on.
