Very easy pick, it's Wonder Boy III all the way. The music, the gameplay, the graphics, it's perfect in every way.
Sorry meu2, looks like Out Run has run out of fuel. I will be very surprised if it gets more votes here.

I can't see Out Run getting many votes at all, though I did accidentally vote vote for Out Run but retracted and voted for Wonder Boy.

Its pretty hard competition for Out Run, Wonderboy III is one of the best games ever made so it would be hard for most games to fair any better.

Wonder Boy III is probably the most complete and polished game on the system, so it is hard to vote against it. Out Run is a classic and very good as well, but I had to go for Wonder Boy III.... it is just too good of a game.

Though i prefer Wonder Boy in Monster Land, Wonder Boy III is a excellent game and one of the best on the Master System. So it gets my vote. OutRun on the Master System is OK, i prefer the Mega Drive version and of course the Arcade version to it though.

Love games like OutRun and Space Harrier in the arcades, but I just don't think the ports on the SMS were all that good. The system just didn't have the power to do scaling or support that behind the back perspective. Pretty much every game that has it suffers from it (Thunder Blade, Hang On, etc.).
Plus, Wonder Boy III is legendary...wouldn't be surprised if it makes it to the semis (the fun will start when it faces off against AKIMW or Sonic1).

Ok, now I start wondering if the people voting here are actually into the SMS or just passing by through linked sites and pressing whatever has the lowest votes. No offense, but 5 votes already for Out Run???

But at the time, the Master System versions of these games were impressive and enjoyable. You may think SMS Outrun is primitive, but it works well, and compared to ports on higher end systems of the time like the Amiga, its a much better game. The Mega Drive iterations of these games aren't even that much improved either. And Hang On suffers on the SMS? its a simpler looking game obviously, but it plays so smoothly. You can't fault how the system copes with it, but really the size limitation of it being a 32k game.

I'm a little surprised Out Run has gotten 5 votes too and I like the game! You may retract again and vote for Out Run! ;D The only reason I voted for Out Run is that in my opinion Wonder Boy III is the worst of Wonder Boy series... Sorry... I knew it will be an easy win for Wonder Boy III, but I'm always voting according to personal thoughts of the games.

As much as I like Out Run, I have to go with Wonder Boy III. It's a superb game and iconic of the system.

Shouldn't the games only be compared to each other though? This is a bit like not voting SMS Streets of Rage because the MD is better. It may be the worst in the series, but the question is... Outrun vs WB3.
