Note to users, this is a continuation of the discussion rupert and I were having on page four of the following thread (link should work just fine, discussion starts after rupert posts the picture): AWESOMEAnd here's the picture again: Hmmm, that's quite strange if it came with the console. Here's a question I have for you so we can figure that bit out. Does it look like one of the sides was cropped off at all? The reason I ask is that mine is technically a bit longer, because a piece about 1/4 an inch in width sticks out on the right side so it could be stapled into the magazine without jeopardizing the sanctity of the patch. If you don't notice any cropping, it means it WAS in fact packaged with something else. What are the dimensions of yours? That will help too. I think they were just going along with the whole 'challenge' idea of their newsletter.

That brings back memories. I had one when I was a kid. Sega of America mailed it to me with a bunch of hint sheets and maybe a newsletter. I think I put it on a hat or a shirt or something. Wish I still had it.

Do you remember anything about the newsletter? As far as I know, it was only placed in the first issue, stapled inside with a bit of extra material.

There is eveidance of perferation along the left hand side - NOT croppidge. It is only slight, I didnt notice untill closer inspection.
The width is 10.5cm (not including the white outside area).
It appares to be made ouf some kind of material, not paper like I also first thought. Looks like the stuff they make them white all in one overalls out of for car sprayers.

Sounds like the same thing, and it's likely from the same source. I'll measure mine when I get home. And yes, same material. Mine is also made out of this cloth-like, iron-on, glue-backed fabric.

It was so long ago that I can't specifically remember. I did get the newsletters though, so it probably came with that. It was definitely an iron on patch. Sega was great back in the day. They would send me all kinds of stuff like arcade flyers, hints sheets, even shirts and hats for free. I called 1-800-USA-SEGA at least once a week to get free stuff. I still remember my favorite operator, Judy Jette. She still works for Sega, I remember seeing her name in the credits for NFL2K1.

That's crazy you said that because it was something I was thinking about. There is an article in one of the newsletters about the phone team at the time, her being one of them. Steve, in fact, knows her and mentioned her a few times. So many articles at once! Seriously, they just started to come out of nowhere. I have two I'm working on and potentially three with this new guy I found, or, jeez, FOUR with the artist I found. Man.
