I just went through and finished the game but only ended up with about 108,000.
How'd ya do it? I mean there's only a set number of guys to beat up right?

Yes, But the moves you use are all worth different points, beat a guy using headbutts as opposed to punches and you'll see what I mean.

Yep, just had a flick through the manual and noticed that too! Don't know if if I have the patience to beat it using only headbutts  Was fun running through the game again though, it was a favourite when I was a kid! Good score mate! If you have Power Strike give that one a whirl. That thread needs some action! |

Haha, so you went through the whole game just headbutting enemies? Awesome  . I might give it a go and see what score I can get, giving Power Strike some hammer first though . |

Not exactly, I used the Headbutt as an example...
But yes mostly Headbut and Headlocks... another good point racker-upper is when you have them in the headlock you can knee them sometimes up to seven times or do the same damage with a single hip throw, why hipthrow if you can get 7X the points with knees!
I learned the tricks of the trade for high scores because when I was young I didn't know the infinite continues trick for round 4 and having a bunch of lives saved up was the only other way I could beat it... you'll notice in my score I was THIS close to getting my 10th free life, plus you get 3 to start with and I was on my last life there when I finally beat it!
I still remember seeing The Wizard when I was like 9 and that scene where Fred Savage is so amazed his brother got 50,000 on Double Dragon, when he died on the bridge in Round 3, I was like 'what?, cripes, i usually have 50K before clearing Round 2!'

I'm surprised I haven't given this one a go yet, as I love this game. I'll definitely attempt it as soon as I get a chance. It looks like your score will be tough to beat though brian.

So I had a go and thought I did pretty well. But I was way off!
Only managed 209,520. I could improve it as I realised towards the end that I wasn't getting any points for knocking enemies of ledges. I still don't think I could beat that score though brian, it's very high indeed!

Had another go and got 276,320 this time. I can still improve on this as I'm gradually picking up on techniques to pick up the most points. I'm getting close so will have to have another go ;D
